Dr. Michelle Fromm Massie, MD

Dr. Massie not only attends to this 88 year old male's health needs; but that of my entire family in Santa Cruz. She is the most conscientious Doctor that I have ever had, and a credit to the best ethics of the medical profession. Her patients come first whether it is a visit or an email response.

Dr. Massie is bright, energetic, engaged. And an alarmist. If you have a slightly abnormal test result, and subsequent tests show that it was a blip or anomaly, she will send you to a specialist to find out WHY that one test was abnormal. How about if she finds a mass which you cannot even feel yourself, schedules you for a round of tests the lab says are inappropriate at this point, and all tests turn out negative, no mass revealed,(phew!) but then she says you need to be checked in 3 months in case that "mass" grows? When you mention that there was nothing there, she suggests you should see a specialist/surgeon. (Honest, this happened to me.) Or if you mention you sometimes feel "a little manic" in the evening hours, she hops up and begins to suggest psychiatrists in the area and testing for bi-polar disorder. I don't know at this point if she has signed an agreement among the PAMF community to order as many tests as possible, or if she is just over-eager for a juicy diagnosis, but I… have lost all faith in her as my physician. I've been jerked around enough, thank you. She's perfect for anyone out there with hypochondria.

Dr. Massie has been my doctor for over 15 years. I cannot imagine going to anyone else. I have recommended many people to her and they all loved her. Her nurse, Carrie is also wonderful. They make a great team.
