Rude. impersonal. Barely said 3 words the entire appointment. As soon as she walked in to meet me she had a miserable look on her face no emotion and no manners. No bed side manners at all. No information or communication what so ever about the procedure. It was uncomfortable and I will never go back to see her again. Terrible. A gyno like this has made it obvious she does not care about her patients and only about getting paid. We need professional doctors with kind hearts who care she is not one of them.

I came to Dr. Roach with PCOS with persistent bleeding and raging unpredictable hormones for approx 1 year. Dr. Roach is an expert in PCOS and worked with me over the course of six months. She perfectly performed 3 surgical procedures, the final a hysterectomy leaving the ovaries, which has freed me from a lifetime of awful PCOS induced menstrual issues. She was thorough and thoughtful, always happy to answer my questions in person and via the online health portal. On the morning following my surgery she rounded on me early and due to her excellent work I was able to be discharged hours early with no fuss. I am 3.5 weeks post op and have healed perfectly. I get to return to work at 4 weeks and am freed of fear from the cancerous changes she'd found and from the whims of my uterus. I am very grateful for the attentive and excellent care.

Dr. Roach performed my D and C surgery due to me miscarrying. Prior to the surgery, she introduced herself and told me I would not be able to have children unless I had an additional surgery. After my husband and I asked questions, she went to check the chart and realized she mixed my diagnosis with another patient. Her staff at the hospital also did not completely perform the pathology test. I will now never know the gender of the baby I lost. Losing a child is traumatic and dealing with a bad doctor has been even more stressful and grueling. Would not recommend Dr. Roach.

As the husband of a Physician (her first pregnancy) and having been through this process before (I have an 11 year old), my experience with Dr. Roach was highly disturbing. This fresh-out-of-Residency Physician has no idea what she doesn't know yet, which is fine if she were meticulous, thorough, and cared for her patients. However, with about 5 minutes per patient in a high-volume Vanderbilt experience (maximize those billing RVU's!), there's no way to give that kind of quality care. My wife attended Residency at Vanderbilt (different department), and was initially put off by how disorganized and indifferent everyone was, from the front desk staff to the schedulers and even Dr. Roach. The final straw was the FIRST ultrasound, at 12 weeks (should be done at 10), NO HCG labs ordered (this is how you know if there's a problem) and we find out my wife has miscarried. The doctor didn't even have the decency to take 3 minutes out of her schedule to come into the room to tell us. She sent a… nurse who told us "the doctor is very busy, but she can call you later." How... DARE... you. Possibly the WORST news you could receive and you don't even have the decency to push your patient load for 3-5 minutes and talk to your patient. My wife's words as we walked back to our car... "I'm ashamed to have come from this Residency Program." At the D&C, we had a different experience entirely. The Physician was more experienced, empathetic, and took the time to make sure my wife was as comfortable as possible for a very unpleasant procedure. This was a chance for Dr. Roach to come by (she was in the office that day) and apologize. She didn't. Even one of the senior nurses came by and apologized for the experience, but no Dr. Roach. As a learning experience, Dr. Roach needs to learn to prioritize properly, take ownership of her mistakes, face them directly, and take care of the patients as people, not RVU's. This is something Vanderbilt doesn't teach; I hope this experience and review will help her reevaluate her approach to patient care.
