Hello, my name is Dr. Michelle Black Ruiz. I was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania while my father was in Dental School at the University of Pennsylvania. My father worked for the Veterans Administration for 30 years and we lived in Clarksburg, West Virginia, St. Cloud, Minnesota, and finally in Amarillo, Texas, my parents' hometown. We returned to Amarillo when I was 9 years old.
I went to Puckett Elementary the first year it was open, then Bonham Junior High School, and graduated from Amarillo High School. I attended Amarillo College for 2 years and graduated from West Texas State University. I completed my higher education at the University of Texas Dental School in San Antonio, Texas.
While I attended Dental School in San Antonio it was voted the best Dental School in the United States by US News & World Report.
I worked for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice in Beeville, and Amarillo, Texas, the Bureau of Prisons, and the Indian Health Service in Rapid …City, South Dakota.
My father & I decided to go into practice together in 2001. We strive to give compassionate care to our patients, as young as 4 years old, on up.
I am married to Jose, who works in the office. We have 3 children- Zachary, Victoria, and Nicholas. I love to read and do stitching such as hardanger and cross-stitching.
