I went in with three symptoms of breast cancer (orange peel skin, breast calcifications, and nipple secretion. Dr. Trinh did not examine me herself and did communicate with the gynecologist who did the breast exam nor with the mammogram technician who observed the nipple secretion. As a result of this lack of communication and lack of detail, he sent me home and asked me to come in six months later. When I came back six months later, I had a very advanced cancer. When I asked the second radiologist what caused her to do an ultrasound, she replied, "calcifications, nipple secretion and orange peel skin". Those were already present 6 months earlier, but Dr. Trinh didn't bother to communicate. As a result, I am fighting for my life. It is amazing that with all this money spent on early detection/mammograms, I was sent home. No big deal for Kaiser. Just another number. A big deal for me as a single mom of a 9-year-old girl who may not live to raise her.
