Dr. Michelle Dawn Welch, MD

I've heard great things about Dr. Welch from other doctors and I do anticipate great care when I get to see her. She's booked way out, even for pre-existing patients, so you need to plan ahead!! On my first visit, I understood I was to see her, but saw the NP. I don't have a problem with that usually, as I've seen great NPs, although I prefer to see the doctor for the first visit. Copies of my record from a previous doctor hadn't gotten as far as my chart yet, but I was able to give a good history. But the NP ignored a major diagnosis-a thyroid problem- even when I tried to steer the conversation back to topic. My questions weren't answered correctly. She didn't want to order followup tests, eg a DEXA for the osteoporosis. When I saw the medical record, I was really concerned because there were major diagnosis involving endocrine problems that were missing and another major diagnosis added that I don't have (she said I have hypertension, and I didn't at that appointment… and haven't before). A prescription wasn't sent in, and many things were listed as discussed that weren't in fact even touched on. I know computers do this boiler plate stuff, but providers shouldn't document that they did things they didn't do, and it was really extensive. As I left, the front desk said the NP would take care of all my appointments, and I wouldn't get to see Dr. Welch, but at my request, they've changed it. Later interactions with the NP were just very strange. BTW, use the portal-you'll get quick responses.

Michelle Welch and her office have refused to take accountability of numerous mistakes. The first three mistakes were that of a prescription in which specific instructions were given three times. This was frustrating because it was a simple request. Well, it reflects on how poorly everything else was. For example I was always on time and if late, I would give a courtesy call to advise. One time they were an hour late with no heads up and I was n my lunch hour. Moreover, if you are this late and/or do not bother to show up on time, they will charge you full price for a visit. I voiced my concern and low an behold they are not taking ownership of their incompetence and forget about any customer service. Michelle then dropped me but when she did, her letter clearly stated that they take customer service very seriously and aim to please. I did not receive one apology for any of the incompetence either. Please proceed with caution if you are looking to receive care from this… doctor and her office. They were clearly wrong but instead of taking ownership and trying to make tings better, they got their feelings hurt and could not take constructive criticism. They would not last in the real world.

I have been Dr. Welch's patient for over ten years and I have always been treated with respect by her staff! In reference to Dr. Welch, she is an extraordinary doctor and lady that always listens to my health concerns, and till this day, I've never walked out of her office without an answer to any of my questions! Although she's always busy, she takes her time to visit with her patients without rushing! She takes excellent care of her patients!

Patient of Dr. Welch she is thorough, good listener, evaluates your health and has knowledge to solve your issues. Office staff and Dr. Welch are polite and always professional.

Rude staff long wait time I felt very uncared for there. Sort of like take a number shut your mouth and wait as long as it takes will never go there again

While I was waiting witnessed patient being told she would not be allowed in the clinic. Waited over one hour to see dr Welch then I was told I would be seeing nurse practitioner. I finally left after waiting over an hour.

Good doctor with a staff of rude idiots! Reconsidering my choice of specialists!

Dr. Welch was my specialist for 5+ years. Only because of changes made to my insurance coverage..... I switched to another physician.

I don't know if it's just this Doctor or all Docs in general now a days, but this practice is about volume not patient care!!!
