Dr. Michelle Emelia Yaw, MD

We absolutely love Dr. Yaw!! She was wonderful at our prenatal visit and loved how honest and straight forward she was. We knew we would be in good hands and we would always know exactly how we were doing as parents (like it or not, sometimes we need to hear things we do not want to, it’s what is best for our child). The moment she met our precious boy, it just melted our hearts. She was so amazing with him and knew just how to hold and soothe him. Even on her busiest days she always took the time to thoroughly examine our son and was so patient with all of our questions and concerns. We never felt like she was rushing us and could tell she truly cared for our sweet boy. Her nursing staff are the nicest, most understanding and patient ladies. They listen to your concerns, are very reassuring, and are very prompt with getting questions and concerns addressed. If you need a pediatrician that will put your child first and show true concern for them, Dr. Yaw is who you want hands down!

I have been reading Dr. Yaws reviews and they seem quite unfair. Dr. Yaw does not get enough credit as a doctor she is fabulous and as community member, again, fabulous. And furthermore, if you expect when visiting a pediatric specialist to be met by perfection ur expectations are quixotic. Who’s moods don’t change, who wouldn’t be tired and maybe a little run down after handeling crying babies and impossible to please parents. Please keep in mind as you read further into these reviews that Dr. Yaw, a human, although a fabulous human, is still a human and being judged and expected to perform without error it’s unrealistic she’s amazing!

I have been reading the other reviews on here and let me jut say dr yaw does not get the credit she deserves. People are saying her behavior changes, whos dosn’t. As a doctor she is excellent as a member of her community she is excellent. And furthermore if you expect to go to a pediatric location and not experience a doctor that is tired or possibly a little impatient after spending a day with whining children and parents that can’t be satisfied you are in for an upsetting surprise because that is quixotic.

Absolutely the worst pediatrician I've ever met. Poor bedside major. Is not for you or your child. Oh, and if you try and breastfeed your infant, good luck if you have difficulties. Instead of helping you and recommending lactation help she will demand deem it necessary to threaten to contact CPS simply because your child may refuse bottles. Good luck!

My son has been seeing Dr. Yaw since he was 1. He is now 9. Her bedside manner is horrible. She is rude and impatient. My son was being seen for a wart. She tells him the freeze treatment will hurt. He begins to cry because of course he is a child & scared. She gives no reassurance only shows frustration because he won't stop crying. She then precedes to say " I am not going to do this, I am not doing this with you, I'm not touching you, I have.... & stops her sentence. She gets up and says " Do the treatment at home" and walks out the room. Leaving us sitting in the room with no instructions of what to do. So we left and he will never be back. If you are wanting a doctor that has good bedside manner, that will try to comfort your child before a procedure and not make you feel like you are inconveniencing them then I suggest you do NOT pick Dr. Yaw as your child's pediatrician!

I have been taking my children there for 4 years. The front desk staff is great, the nurses are nice but you never know which Dr. Yaw you are going to get at each visit. One appointment she may be semi attentive, patient and helpful, the next appointment she is calling your kid the wrong name, accusing you of giving the wrong pharmacy name because she, in fact, is in the wrong chart.She is impatient, scatterbrained and somewhat verbally abusive. We have had pleasant visits and absolutely terrible appointments. If you are looking for a soothing, caring, patient doctor that takes her time than Dr. Yaw is not for you. She forgets to call consults, she is rude on occasion and my child is pretty much frightened of her. After 4 years we have had enough and will not be back to see her.

Not a great bedside manner with kids. Almost comes across as abrupt and sarcastic. The 2 of 3 times we saw her our children were wrongly diagnosed. Another time we saw her and we had to insist on a strep test because she didn't feel it was necessary only for it to come back positive. Will continue with other doctors at the same practice, but would go to urgent care if Dr. Yaw was our only option in the future.

I almost never do online reviews, but I feel compelled to do one on Michelle Yaw. That is how exceptional I feel she is. She does not sugarcoat things, if you are doing something that is unhealthy for your child she will tell you, and back up her recommendations with solid understandable information. She requires a vaccination schedule for her patients, which was important to us as we are opposed to the anti-vaccination fads. My son lights up when she comes in the room as well, as her bedside manner is excellent.

In dealing with Dr Yaw I felt many times like she was not very knowledgeable on my child condition. She seemed very ditzy, unprofessional, and very unorganized. I don't know how many times I had appointment issues with the Westerville office and the staff are rude. I can recall one visit at the Sunbury office where Dr. Yaw sat at the front desk surfing the internet about non work related things so I was forced to wait for her 20 mins after the set appointment time. They don't do follow up or reminder calls for appointment scheduling at the Westerville office. They are the only Dr office I've ever been to that doesn't. I was told by a nurse it was my job as a parent to take care of that, they should not have to call. I have since transferred my sons medical records to another Dr.
