Excellent Dr., the first one in 40 years to diagnose my problem and actually treat it instead of just giving more pain pills!!

I'm sort of flabbergasted by the negative reviews about Dr. Rodriquez here. The person described by these few patients is the complete opposite of the Dr. I've come to know over the past 10 years. Kind, sympathetic, helpful beyond anything I've ever experienced with a physician, and NEVER, EVER has he been authoritative, condescending or rude. He's easy to relate to, shows great interest in other aspects of my life besides my illness, and shares his own personal experiences with me as well. I don't ever feel intimidated, reluctant to communicate, or pawned off by him. He sends me to other specialists on occasions when I NEED one....he's an arthritis guy, not a dermatologist. At least he cares enough to refer me when I need more help than he can provide. How can anyone resent that? The only real problem I have with his office is the parking lot.

Peggy that does the insurance approvals was very rude today. After she canceled my appointment as I stood there waiting on my referral to come through. I left to go pick it up cause she said she didn't get it. Brought it back and guess what! She already had it, then she said she still needed authorization. She refused to talk on my phone with my referring doctor office. I was turned away with no appointment with her having my referral in hand. People that work in offices should be friendly not make you feel discriminated against. I will be seeing what other options I have to address this issue.

After 4 visits with this man I insisted on a referral to another MD. The very first visit he tried to send me to Shands. I should have taken him up on that offer because I soon found out what a mstake that was. Horrible bediside manner, very forgettful, dosent know what is what, came across to me as confused and unorganized, perhaps the staff had a hand in that but bottom line is dont come into the patients room until you have your info together. I would rather wait another 30 mins in the room while you get it together. Have some compassion, you are dealing with people who have chronic uncurable diseases and are often in alot of pain. Bad sign when you go to a SPECIALIST and he tires to push you off on another specialist. Patients looking....dont look here, save the aggravation and wasted time and money. This guy is a waste of time, money and..in general, AIR

I went to DR Rodriguez because I have been having joint pain for years and my ANA came back positive along with my RA factors were high. I was so excited to finally see proof on paper that the pain was not in my head like so many doctors had told me before. I left his office in tears and unsure of everything! He was so rude and kept trying to get me to go to mayo clinic so they could help me, he had attitude when I told him I do not having "growing pains" mind you I'm 27! He has no clue what he is doing and his bed side manner is rude! How he stays in practice is beyond me. I was also told just because my blood work shows positive doesn't mean there's anything wrong, well if you have joint pain and positive blood work obviously it is! Patients BEWARE!!!!!!

Dr. Rodriguez is excellent, as are his nurses, however; the difficulties lie with the front office staff. Rarely do they answer the phone. Most of the time a recording picks up to tell you that the person you called is with a patient, leave your name, number and reason for the call and you will receive a return call by the end of the day. This actually happens sometimes but if the woman who receives the messages isn't in the office on the day you call, apparently there is no one else in the office to perform that duty so a patient has to wait until the employee comes back to work. The doctor tells patients to call in to refill meds a few days before the med runs out because it takes 24 hours to process the request. I called two days before my med ran out and left a message for the refill. That was 4 days ago and the pharmacy still has not received the order from the doctor's office. Next time I guess I should call a week or more before the Rx runs out.

Dr Rodriguez is the most caring, dedicated doctor that I have seen. He listens, he advises, he returns phone calls. There is not many of this kind of doctor anymore.
