Dr. Mihai Dan Alexianu, MD

I am currently admitted and he just walked into my room and was cold, callus, and rude. He said it was going to be more difficult because I was a "big girl". When i asked what he meant he flat out said obese. As if i dont feel bad enough with my kidney stones, he made me cry. As long as he gets the stone is all I'm carrying about, and than I never want to see him again. Ugh, what a jerk.

I have been Dr. Alexianu's patient for years. I find him compassionate and well informed. A few years ago he caught my cancer and saved my life. His manner is a bit brusk; however, his skill is far more important. I count him as one of my favorite and most trusted doctors.

This Doctor has been treating tumors in my bladder almost 2 years. He and his staff have treated me fantastically. I would be hard pressed to find better.

Rude short awful bedside manner no answers

I had to wait for months to get an appointment, but I didn’t have to wait long on appointment day. He was quick, but very thorough, right the point I guess I would say, which was fine with me. I see a lot of comments about wait time. I get that it is frustrating, but 9 times out of 10 it’s not the staff or Dr’s fault. He probably hates running late more than you want to be sitting there.

Yes, the clinic was 20 minutes behind for my first appointment. However I was blown away by how Dr. Alexiano handled my situation. I had blood in my urine for a week and rather than waiting 2 weeks to have a cystoscopy, he did it same day in office and diagnosed my bladder tumor. I had my surgery the next week and his nurse was there to answer every question I had. I appreciate his reasonable approach to my case and he really does seem to care about his patients. He showed me my CT and explained everything and offered to send me for a second oppinion. This is the ONLY urologist I will see.

I read ALL of the doctors reviews, and frankly, I wasn't impressed. I already as prepared to be disappointed. Howwver, he was great ! He explained everything. Took the time and and my aueztions. Pulled up films. Was attentive, knowledgeable. Very smart, competent doctor. I have surgery next week, and he explained everything. His nurse, wasn't so friendly.....

When seeing Dr. Alexianu for the first time i waited about an hour for him to even come into my room to see me just for him to talk to me for about 5 minutes. Next visit I was coming back to get my kidney stone results and know what would be good things for me to avoid. They ended up loosing my stone as well as the analysis an all for me to sit in a room for about 50 minutes and learn nothing. I wouldn't have been so upset if they bothered to off and refund my copay for the appointment that literally wasted over an hour of my time and told me nothing about my help. He basically laughed it off like it was some common mistake and that he would see me in a year for a follow up. Complete joke.

Has no idea of how patient-provider partnership works. I left his office with less knowledge on diagnosis, condition and treatment than when I first arrived. I have learned more on line and this seemed to bother him. He is unable to understand what the patient is feeling or what questions need to be addressed. BTW, after two visits he has not once actually examined my prostate and has simply accepted the diagnosis of others. A real problem since the others (PCP, Oncologist, Urgent Care Doctor, ER Doctors) always want to know what the urologist thinks!

Astronomical wait time. Over 45 minutes in larger waiting room followed by over 20 minutes in a smaller private room. Staff lacked personability that makes someone feel welcome at at ease. Overall horrible experience due to out of this world wait times. Make an appt on a day you have NOTHING else going on.
