Mijung Huh, NP

Hannah Huh, NP, has been promoted to nurse practitioner and has joined the neurology department at Sacred Heart Medical Center at RiverBend.
She earned her masters in nursing as a family nurse practitioner at University of North Alabama and bachelor of science in nursing from Regis University.
She most recently worked in the post-anesthesia care unit at RiverBend as a registered nurse.
She brings extensive experience volunteering in humanitarian aid internationally to her current role, including in Costa Rica, Afghanistan, Iraq, Bangladesh and Guatemala. “What I learned through my travels is that building relationships with people and learning their cultures … physical, psychological and spiritual care is important.
“I got to travel and have different experiences that a normal job wouldn’t let me be able to do,” she added. “Meeting different patients, different populations, different co-workers, that’s enjoyable to me.”
She started in healthcare as a nurse’s aide about 20 years ago …and steadily advanced her career since then. Her interest in the brain and how it works drew her toward neurology.
In her current role, she will focus on working with patients with movement disorders. “A holistic approach is really important with these patients,” she said. “A lot of depression and anxiety comes with them.”
She is looking forward to working with her patients and getting to know them better.
“In this setting we get to see patients over and over, and build relationships, rapport and trust,” she said.
Huh also speaks Korean. She enjoys outdoor activities when she is not at work, especially spending time with her husband and two dogs.
