Dr. Mikako Kuga

She puts the patient's needs first in that she only does the work that is necessary. In my experience, I've found dental groups are insurance claims factories that either load you up with unnecessary work and/or apply the most expensive procedure in order to maximize their profits. Even though it costs her money, Dr. Kuga does not follow that practice. Instead, she'll do the treatment that is best recommended for your particular case, even if it's not the most expensive. That saves you money in co-pays and the like. In line with the above, she prefers to apply the most conservative treatment first. Since the most conservative treatment often is all you need, that saves you money, too. Her advice concerning treatment is very good as well. Because I know she puts the patient's needs first, I trust her treatment advice completely. So, you can feel sure you're getting good treatment advice from her. If you have dental exam anxieties, Dr. Kuga is the dentist for you, in my personal… opinion. She takes her time and monitors your condition. If you look like you're tensing up, she'll stop and let you relax. She also continually checks in with you to make sure you're OK. She's especially good for people who have PTSD. The methods she uses to ease her patients with dental exam anxieties is especially helpful for people with PTSD. If you have PTSD, Dr. Kuga is the dentist for you, in my personal opinion. She does most of the work herself. At dental groups, a dental hygienist will do most of the cleaning and other work. The dentist will breeze in at the end and give you the once over. Dr. Kuga likes to do most of the work herself so she can get a good look at what's going on with your teeth. She leaves the work to her registered dental assistant (RDA) that her RDA is trained in. So, you get the best service, both from Dr. Kuga and her RDA. She's very kind, as is the rest of her staff. I always appreciate how kind Dr. Kuga is. Her staff is really nice, too. One of her staff members speaks Spanish. So, that's helpful, too. She does work with the VA. So, if you're a veteran, Dr. Kuga is the dentist for you, in my personal opinion. She has working arrangements with the VA to handle veterans. She talked with me about this a few times, but not about the details like the necessary paperwork and the like. So, you'll have to check with her office for details. I've lived in a lot of different places over the years and have had a lot of different dentists. Dr. Kuga is by far the best dentist I've ever had. I base that claim on my above remarks and it's why I give her a 5-star rating.
