Dr. Mike Mathieu, MD

Hello! I'm Mike Mathieu. I was born in the United States but spent much of my life growing up in Cap-Haïtien, Haiti. I attended the University of Florida for my undergraduate studies, where I obtained my Bachelor of Science in Biology. I then completed my medical training at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Wausau. I chose family medicine because I want to be equipped to care for people of all ages and backgrounds. My goal is to provide solid continuity of care and be a supportive companion for my patients during both their highs and lows. I speak multiple languages, including French, Creole, and a bit of Spanish. In my free time, I enjoy going to the movies—my favorite is "A Walk to Remember." I also love playing video games and board games, as well as watching YouTube and Netflix. Traveling and learning about new cultures is a passion of mine. I enjoy trying all kinds of food and am always ready to explore new restaurants. When I'm not working, you …can find me at the gym (though I tend to avoid cardio), cooking hot dogs at a beach bonfire, or watching some great Haitian movies.My philosophy in family medicine is to provide compassionate, patient-centered care that addresses the physical, emotional, and social aspects of health. I value long-term relationships with patients and strive to promote prevention, wellness, and shared decision-making. By understanding each patient's unique context and coordinating care effectively, I aim to improve both individual and community health outcomes.
