I have been coming to see Dr. Fuks for 20 years. I vividly remember first time I came to see him and how knowledgeable, thoughtful and caring he was with me and addressing my questions and concerns. He later also became primary doctor for my husband. He always goes above and beyond his job: advising me on my 1st and 2nd pregnancy, referring me to the best specialist and providing the kind of care I have never seen from any other doctor. I am grateful to have Dr. Fuks care for my family. Despite all of our moves (4) all over the city and suburbs, we continue to make the commute to see him. He is one of a kind.

I have been a patient of Dr Mikhail Fuks for the past four years and I highly recommend him. He is not only very professional and knowledgeable, he sincerely cares about his patients. A year ago I was diagnosed with breast cancer. As soon as Dr Fuks received the results, he called me to come to his office as soon as possible, he talked to me about treatments and recommended a very good surgeon. Thanks to Dr Fuks, I was able to address the problem immediately and get treated when my cancer was at a very early stage - which basically saved my life. Dr Fuks really cares about his patients and takes time to talk to them about all their medical issues. Also, there is no wait time in this office! I always get my preferred time-slot and I never have to wait. I highly recommend Dr Fuks.

Dr.Fuks is highly knowledgeable and experienced very thorough and brilliant diagnostician. I have been his patient for three years. He insisted and send me to MR based only on few minor symptoms I had / a cough not being one of them/ and they discovered I had a lung cancer. Luckily it was small one and after successful surgery now I’m cancer free. So the knowledge of doctor Fuks and his talent for diagnosis saved my life. Ethereally grateful!

I have been a patient of Dr. Fuks for more than 10 years now. When I met him initially I could partially relate to some of the comments made by some of the folks on this site who are less pleased with his mannerisms. However, I grew up in a highly medical family (grandfather, father and 4 uncles and aunts). Each of them had their own bespoke personality. As I gort to know a little more about Dr. FUks I was quite surprised to learn that, yes, he is RUssian, but he has also been a very eminent professor of surgery/medicine at Moscow University and a PhD in Sciences. Given the temperament common to surgeons necessary for them to have the nerve to undertake what they do and his boisterous Russian culture his temperament becomes rather easy to understand. Blunt and direct is to be expected. He is the Russian equivalent of a no nonsense Harvard Heart Surgeon and a Military officer. Culturally they do not believe they are helping you if they molly-coddle you. WE in America are used to a… different model. The customer service model where being made 'feel good' is part of the 'customer service' experience. Neither approach is actually wrong. They are just different and Dr. Fuks is an incurable Russian in all the best ways. If you understand this you can grow to like him very easily. He has a very dry sense of humor and once understood is really quite funny. He IS direct and can be a little intimidating at time but he gets results. He knows that results are all that actually works. I am too laid back to take gentle advice very seriously and he has enough human insight to see this so he jostles me a little. As a result I have successfully dodged bullets early on high cholesterol, potential liver tumors, drinking issues before serious liver damage, type II diabetes, high blood pressure, overweight and a host of other issues that could have led to life threatening conditions and am now a MUCH healthier person because of it. If I had a milder doc than my friend Dr Fuks I'd be in trouble now. I think he really does care about his patients more than they realize but he does it his way. Like the big caring bear he is. I owe my health and life to that man and am eternally thankful to him. I have one of Russia's most eminent doctors looking after my daily health issues. I am lucky indeed. My elderly father was a professor of Radiology at the University of Toronto and an eminent man in his own right and when I describe my care with Dr. Fuks he tells me that it sounds to him that I am in very good hands with him.

Dr. Fuks treats his patients like Russian livestock. I have never been more uncomfortable with a doctor as I had with this man. I got a new doctor and asked to have my medical history records faxed from Dr. Fuks to my new doctor. She refused my new Doctor's request to fax my medical record history other than a blood test from the 1 appointment I had with Dr. Fuks. The reason she refused was because there was too much paper to print out and that I only stayed with Dr. Fuks for one visit. She took it personally that I was leaving Dr fuks . This is bad fiction as if I was in a totalitarian country deprived of access to my medical records.

I should have listened to other reviewers before i decided to come here - The receptionist is extremely unfriendly (sometimes rude) as if you own them anything. The most unfriendly staff i've ever seen. When i see comments regarding the unfriendliness i was like, so what, no big deal as long as the doctor is good and can cure you. How wrong i was. So went to see the doctor. He is rather serious, not very nice but not too unfriendly. I was having a stomachache for two weeks and told the doctor specifically that I want an annual check -up (which is covered by my insurance) and I have this stomachache. So they took my blood and urine sample to send for lab tests, did vision test, and other routine. He did press my stomach here and there and asking if it hurt and did ultrasound (he claimed the ultrasound is for stomachache pain and not part of the annual check up. Iâ??ve no idea if this is true), and asked me a few questions and gave me prescriptions (which I didnâ??t take as I soon… figure out the problem was I somehow become allergic to papaya). So I came back one week later to get my results and they said most lab tests are fine. But they took another urine sample as the first sample wasnâ??t good due to other conditions. Now comes the best part, they billed me for the first time visit as general ailment which is not covered by my insurance. And then they want to bill me for my 2nd visit as annual check up! When I called and asked why they took blood and urine sample during 1st visit if my 1st visit was for general ailment, they argued the samples they took the 1st time was preparing for the 2nd annual check up visit! Itâ??s very nasty that they twisted things just to bill more money. Stay away if you donâ??t want to deal with things like this! So regretted I should have listened to other reviewers!
