Dr. Mikhail Vassilenko, MD

In over 40 years as a BSN, Ive never witnessed such an obnoxious, self inflated, demeaning, doctor. Me thinks this psychiatrist is in great need of a psychiatrist. Poor assessment skills. Contradicted his own orders....just a mess. Feel badly for those who are " in the system" & must rely on this County Mental Health provider.

A " Neuropsychiatrist" who knows very little about Benzodiazepines and the changes / down regulation/ tolerance/ withdrawal/ BIND / slow taper required for the brain. Beyond rude & it has nothing to do with culture differences. Abruptly stopped my prescribed Rx, which I was taking as prescribed. One only needs to research or even view medical professional documentaries on Netflix to realize the danger in stopping Benzos. His actions caused damage to my Autonomic Nervous System, causing POTS Dysautonomia resulting in disability, job loss, foreclosure, devastated exclamation all because I had a concussion and they put me in the psych ward at Beaver because of the behavioral changes. He denied that I had a concussion claiming that it didn't show on the CT scan which any medical professional knows, a concussion does not show up it never shows up on a CT scan! Instead he caught my benzo and altered my other prescriptions. Amazing that at UPMC neurological Center they actually delved in and… stated that I did have a concussion and that there was no benzo " misuse". Too late at that point for me to regain ground. Went through concussion therapy and recovered but still struggling with protracted withdrawal symptoms that have stolen my career, my life & the hard-working, intelligent, tolerant and kind person that I once was.

Dr. Vassilenko is Russian and is very abrupt. People either love him or hate him. He has saved my life after my suffering with major depression for 50 years. I am pres of his fan club. Wonderful wonderful doctor.

I don't know if this man is over worked and underpaid but he is abrupt, rude, knee jerk diagnosis without reviewing my history or listening to facts. Experience was actually traumatic.

Would not listen to me so obviously I was misdiagnosed and treated extremely poorly by him.

I left my appointment so shook up I could not drive. He did not allow me to speak and told long unrelated stories about 18th century philosopher's. I needed help and he made me much much worse. He screamed at me when I tried to interrupt and ask him to read my history. He could not pull up the information on computer.

Spent only a brief amount of time with me. Did not listen to any facts I had to give. Jumped to his own conclusions, made completely unfounded accusat ...

This doctor was very rude and would rarely allow me to finish a sentence. Due to his inability to accurately intake information provided, I was not properly diagnosed.

Dr. Vassilenko was one of the worse doctors I have ever seen. He may, in fact, be very skillful, but he took almost no time to listen during our appointment. Instead he rushed to make a decision, ignored my objections, and ended up making a decision that left me extremely ill. Had he listened to me, the result would have at least been more favorable. In addition, he made me feel worse than I already did by the way he treated me. The second time I saw him, I took a family member into the appointment with me so that my voice would be heard more clearly. This is not a doctor I would trust.
