Dr. Mikka Michelle Appel, MD

Dr Appel is the best doctor i have ever been to. She never rushes me out whether it’s for a sickness or yearly examine and same for my daughter. She knows her information and has lots of experience. If she isn’t sure of something specific she will send us to someone who specializes in it. She’s one of the most caring doctors I have been too and wants the best for you like she would herself or her kids. Never feel like she’s pushy, but has confidence in what she says or treats. She wants to solve the root of an issue and not just push meds which I like. Highly recommend as family doctor!

Very friendly, but ultimately doesn't care what you have to say. She will very politely brush off your concerns while forcing her own brand of treatment, which usually involves ignoring your symptoms and sending you to specialist to find the "root" problem, while you deal with the symptoms on your own for days or weeks (instead of a dual approch). YOU SHOULDN'T HAVE TO BEG YOUR OWN DOCTOR FOR HELP. But if all you have is a runny nose, or a sports physical she might do in a pinch. IF you can even see her, usually you end up with 1 of 3 PAs that won't make a move with out her approval anyway. so your appointment becomes a game of Telephone.

Dr. Apple is a very caring and attentative doctor. She is concerned about her patients and take the time to listen and respond. She is refreshing and easy to talk to. My entire family goes to her and we all agree that she is the best doctor we have ever met. She always make an effort to get us in right away if is an urgent situation.

I was OK with Dr. Appel until she completely misdiagnosed me with something AND when my husband walks in, she immediately recommends cholesterol medication without talking to him much. She ALSO lacks empathy and acts like she's in a big hurry. DOES NOT LISTEN - was not AT ALL open to me taking supplements for my menopause symptoms I'm suffering from. I'm am seeking another doctor after being with her for years.

Dr. Appel has been treating me for the last 8 years. She is very down to earth and unlike most doctors, doesn't look at patients with contempt. I trust her so much that I talked my wife into switching to her as well. When my wife got pregnant, we asked Dr. Appel to be his doctor as well. I trust her with my life and more importantly, that of my wife and son.

Dr. Appel is a ver thorough and caring doctor. I do not mind waiting a little bit longer for her because when I do see her she really takes her time and listens to what I have to say and answers all of my questions. Her Physician Asst as well as her nurse are also courteous, return calls and are very thorough, also. She is the best Doctor I have had her in the Quad Cities in the last 15 years I have lived here. She also treats my teenage daughter and is wonderful with her. My daughter likes her a lot.
