Dr. Milton Chavez, MD

While my personal interaction with Dr. Chavez early August was positive and staff is very friendly, there has been a consistent lack of communication, prescription errors, irregular labs I was not told about, and a major lack of urgency in treatment. After the first appointment with Dr. Chavez it took more than 5 days and 5 phone calls into the office before my prescription was finally sent to the pharmacy, which the office was already supposed to have done. The prescription was never filled as there was an error in the system and I was not made aware of this until calling over and over. I waited four days before finally having it filled, luckily it was not a medication that was super urgent. Then I saw Dr. Chavez’s PA. She did not discuss many of the common side effects of a new long term medication she suggested before prescribing it. I was interested in a different medication but was told there was a medication the doctor prefers to try first and I agreed. We did not discuss many… of the common side effects of the medication at all. I only came to find out these side effects after looking into it at home and they involved major life changes I was not comfortable with. It’s irresponsible and negligent that they were not ever brought up let alone discussed in the appointment. When I messaged the office to voice concern about not being told about the side effects of this new medicine, I was told to make another appointment. It is completely unreasonable to make another appointment with new cost to me to discuss medication information that should have already been presented to me in my previous visit. I asked if a phone call would be acceptable to discuss and adjust treatment but I received no response after the initial message. Not discussing side effects of a new med is incredibly concerning— and yet no one reached out to me— Dr. Chavez or otherwise, to apologize or discuss the situation. I feel this is a serious concern that was completely ignored— if I hadn’t done my due diligence and researched the med, I likely would’ve ended up taking it. This lack of communication compromises my ability to trust my physician office and rely on them for standard of care. Lastly, I can see on my patient portal page that I have abnormal lab results that were never brought up or discussed at the follow-up visit. I can see them in my chart, and yet it has been weeks and neither Dr. Chavez or anyone else from his office has contacted me. The care I received from Dr. Chavez and his staff was medically negligent, uncommunicative, and unresponsive to serious concerns. I would not be comfortable having any loved ones treated by him— thankfully I am not dealing with a serious or urgent illness, because if I was, Dr. Chavez’s office would likely have caused me real harm.

He is honestly the best doctor I have ever been to.
