Dr. Milton Jesse Reitman

Our daughter was first diagnosed with an endocardia cushion defect and patent ductus arteriosus in 1981. Dr. Reitman diagnosed her condition. He sat at his desk in front of us and delivered the heart breaking news. But he did so with tremendous gentleness, knowing we would be devastated. Then he did something I had never experienced before, or since. He took off his watch, threw it into the drawer, closed the drawer and told the nurse who had interrupted our meeting, to call his next appointment to reschedule. Then he said to us I will spend as much time with you as you need. This was our first experience with Dr. Reitman and just one small example of the numerous times he continually extended himself to us, above and beyond the call. Dr. Reitman was an amazing Cardiologist for our daughter, that is definitely true but he was so much more than that. For us, he became a source of comfort, encouragement, strength and support. He was as attentive to us as he was over the health… of our precious daughter. We felt him watching closely as we dealt with the sorrow, the uncertainty and the financial strain. At one point, Dr. Reitman snatched a hospital invoice from our hands, ripped it in half, then said to us dont worry about this, it will get handled. We never saw that bill again. It is over 30 years later and we continue to remember Dr. Reitman with many fond memories. We do now and always will admire, love and appreciate this wonderful cardiologist.

He is a great doctor and i would recommend him to anyone. He did my open heart sergery when i was 7 years old and thanks to him im completely fine with no restricts. Now i am 21yr old and becomming a police officer =].
