Dr. Min Kim Choi, MD

Absolutely concur with others' reviews. Overlooked her impersonal and dismissive style because at first she seemed thorough and LISTENED as much as she talked. That was maybe 2 years ago. Since then, she has repeatedly re-prescribed two different blood pressure meds I'd had her stop. each after less than a month for adverse reactions. When I brought this to her attention, she had no idea what I was taking for BP and told me she had "no record" of a consult she'd had, and she and I had discussed afterward, with my dermatologist to coordinate meds that affect blood pressure. It also took 10 DAYS to get a colonoscopy referral from her, which I wasn't aware I needed. She'd advised me to get it but didn't say anything about a referral. Because of the prep (old-fashioned procedure), I hoped to schedule it while I was still working from home (COVID) to avoid losing another day of work. The only saving grace -- and I found this out today, 6 DAYS before it happens, SHE RETIRES 8/3. Wouldn't… be surprised if she was forced to reture. At any rate, good riddance. You're a danger to your profession.

I visited Dr. Choi a total of 3 times. She has a bad bed side manner. I thought I would give her one more try, gave her information from the specialist I see for her information and her reply (" I didn't order that"). That was it ! Usually doctors want to have records to update your chart to coordinate the information about you. Very unprofessional. Would not waste your time with this doctor !

I'm sorry I thought I found a good place. Dr. Choi is terrified of writing necessary medications. She told me Lyrica was an opioid. Lyrica (pregabalin) is an anti-seizure medication that has been found to be an effective treatment for many conditions including Fibromyalgia. It contains no opioids. I have been taking Lyrica for many years. Cymbalta is an anti-depressant that is also used to treat Fibromyalgia symptoms. NONE OF THE MEDICATIONS I HAVE BEEN ON FOR 5 TO 20 YEARS ARE OPIOIDS. Dr. Choi's answer to quality care for patients is to give a 7 day supply and say good luck. All of my medications will cause severe problems if suddenly withdrawn. This is NOT QUALITY HEALTHCARE.

Coming from years of dealing with doctors that made me very unhappy, I have never been so delighted than when I came to Dr. Choi's office. I was made to feel welcome and that someone was LISTENING. Listening to patients is the biggest part of healthcare. Her ability to take time to care, took away anxiety that had built up from the years of disappointment from other caregivers. I felt like someone would help me find answers, or at least care enough to try. That was enough for me. Dr. Choi has found numerous things that my other doctors failed to even mention. I already feel like I am on my way to better health. I am grateful to have found Dr. Choi.

If you are sick and want to feel even worse, this is the doctor for you! She is rude, disrespectful, and does not listen to her patients. If you need something beyond a standard course of antibiotics, she will not prescribe it. She will insist you see an expensive specialist, even when you have already seen one who has sent the records back to her. Twice she has sent me a specialist who has said a low dose, longer course of antibiotics is the most effective way to treat the serious sinus infection I get once a year. She will not look at their recommendations or call to ask question. She just keeps sending you back to the specialist who says the same thing. She does not care if she is costing you more money or more time off work. I will say though, her office staff is wonderful -- friendly, professional, and efficient.

I have only visit this doctor 3 times. The first time her bedside manners were horrible. I walked out saying I would not be back. A year later I decided to revisit and thought maybe it was just a bad day for me. Everything went well at that appointment and the doctor actually was pleasant. Fast forward, I attempted to visit doctor again due to being sick. Doctor came into the room without an hello and starting saying there was nothing wrong because previous test shows nothing. I was not asked about my signs or symptoms but basically she was going off her notes when appointment was made about why I wanted to be seen. Why would I waste my time (from work), my money (not getting paid because I am not at work and paying a copay) to come to the doctor if there was nothing wrong. I felt like she just does not listen to her patients. Why are you even a doctor if you are not going to allow your patients to discuss their concerns.

Not friendly, argues with patient.

Doesn't listen. Jumps to conclusions. Legalistic, by the book. Doesn't have time for you. Poor bedside manner, doesn't care.
