Dr. Minaxi Jhawer is an amazing oncologist and human being. Cancer is difficult, but she is the best! She is currently Director of Oncology at Englewood Hospital and was previously at Sloan Kettering. She is brilliant, stays current with all new medical research and is intimately involved with each of her patients. She actually calls every patient once a week! You are blessed if you have her as your doctor. I am currently cancer free for 7 years.

My mother was recently diagnosed with colon cancer and referred to Dr. Jhawer. From the moment we met her, we were so impressed with her knowledge, skill, and most importantly, her compassion. She took the time to thoroughly explain the diagnosis, answer any questions, and discuss the treatment options. She helped us coordinate with an array of specialists, making a challenging process much more manageable. We are only at the beginning of this journey, yet we could not feel more confident with our choice of doctor. At each visit we have been so impressed with every member of her team, from Emily at the front desk helping to schedule and coordinate all our appointments, to Nissi who thoroughly explained the details and process of the chemo treatments. After such a difficult diagnosis, it has been comforting to be surrounded by such knowledgeable and compassionate professionals.

2 minutes ago My husband was diagnosed with a very rare cancer 3 years ago. He was being treated at MSK and our oncologist there recommended Dr. Jhawer so he could be treated closer to home. Dr. Jhawer is incredible. We need doctors who think out of the box, who take the time to listen, and who truly relate to patient needs. Dr. Jhawer is all of these things. We rely on several doctors to work as a team to address our needs and we are beyond confident with Dr. Jhawer at the helm. She is also in constant communication with our MSK doctor. We feel we have the "dream team" taking care of this rare, complicated disease. When we meet with Dr. Jhawer, we appreciate the frank conversation, the clear explanations, and the dialogue which allows us to ask all the questions we have no matter how big or how small. Dr. Jhawer is caring for my husband but I feel like she also cares for me as we are in this together. As a service professional, I am always being evaluated and I have very, very… high expectations. I rarely give anyone 5 stars. Dr. Jhawer is that rare exception. If you are ever in need of an oncologist, she is the doctor to see. Dr. Jhawer and her team are, in our experience, your best chance for exceptional medical care for you and your family.

During my visits with her I found her to be very knowledgeable, compassionate and reassuring. She came highly recommended from several doctors at Sloan Kettering in Manhattan where she worked for many years. My treatment was well outlined and thought out. After being her patient for past few years I think she is one of the best cancer doctors around and I highly recommend her.

Receiving the medical diagnosis of any type of Cancer is a frightening and emotional thing at best. Dr. Jhawer, with her amazing level of competance and compassion and a willingness to spend as much time as I needed, made that diagnosis palatable. Never do I leave her office without the full comprehension of my latest test results and without an understanding of my condition. Her warmth radiates each visit and in a strange and curious way, she has given me a lesson that you can find good even under circumstances that are far less than joyous. I never questioned her medical capabilities, after all she was recommmended by three physicians as the Doctor that they would send their family members to. But like my other physicians, her compassion and comfort capabilities, her bedside manner, is extraordinary! Far too often, I have visited physicians who are ncredible in their fields but have an office staff that is less than exceptional. Dr. Jhawer's staff, from the receptionists; to… the lab technicians; to Diane, who arranges all of the referrals that were necessary to diagnosis and control my disease; to Donna who arranges all of my appointments; to her amazing, capable and compassionate assistants Jennifer and Susan, who always make me feel as if I was their only patient, is a in my opinion a rarity. I don't wish anyone cancer, but if that becomes a part of your life, I hope you find the same total care that I have found from Dr. Minaxi Jhawer and the practice of Forte, Schleider and Attas at Englewood Hospital.
