Dr. Mindy Alyce Schwartz, MD

Not only is Mindy really up to date on medical issues but her sincere care about the patient's overall health really makes a difference for overall health and I think outcome as well. I drive 2 hours each way just to see her because she is that good as a Doctor.

Shes gone Bonkers and IS A Bit Insain and A Controling, Doctor. she took a HIV TEST ON ME WITH OUT MY CONSENT, SHE REFUSE TO GIVE ME A BONE DINSITY TEST BUT SHE WANT TO TEST ME FOR HIV IM A WOMEN THATS NOT HAVING NO SEX PERIOD DONT DO NO DRUGS PERIOD BUT SHE BELEAVES I SHOULD BE TESTED FOR HIV AND I ASK HER WHY, I CANT REMEMBER WHAT SHE TOLD ME, BUT I NEVER SIGNED ANY THING FOR THE HIV TEST, I FEEL I NEEDED A BONE DINSITY TEST SHE REFUSSE TO REFFER ME FOR ONE, BUT SHE WANTS ME TO HAVE A HIV , WITH OUT GOOD CAUSE, THIS IS CRAZY, AND DR SCHWARTZ HAS INSAULTED ME AND THREATEN ME, SHE SENT ME AND HER COLLEGUE, DR J. CORY A MESSAGE ABOUT ME, THREW THE MY CHART CALLING ME INSAULTING NAMES, I HOPE SHES NOT UNDER COVER RACES CAUSE IM A AFRO AMERICCAN WOMEN AND SHES WHITE I WAS INSALTED BY IT, HER WORDS WERE THIS IS A Odd DUCK SHE'S SEEING DOCTORS AT RUSH AND U OF C, DONT WORRY I'LL TAKE CARE OR HANDLE THIS, I MEAN WHAT IS THIS SOPOSE… TO MEAN A DOCTOR IS NOT SOPOSE TO BE INSAULTING THERE PATIENTS OR THREATENING THEM WHY WOULD SHE CALL ME A DUCK, I'M NOT NO DUCK, IM A PERSON A WOMEN AND WHY WOULD SHE SAY I'LL TAKE CARE OF THIS, WHAT IS THIS SOPOSE TO MEANS, I'LL TAKE CARE OF THIS, AND WHY IS SHE SO CONCERN WITH ME SEEING OTHERS DOCTORS AT OTHER MEDICAL PLACES WHY THIS IS INSAIN BEHAVOR FOR A DOCTOR TO SAY THIS AND ACT LIKE THIS TO THERE PATIENTS, WITH OUT REASON OR CAUSE AND I NEVER DID ANY THING TO DR SCHWARTS NEVER ALL I DO IS ASK FOR RE-FILLS AND SERTIN TESTS, AND REFFERALS THAT I FILL I MAY NEED, AND THIN SHES GOES OFF ON ME IN HER OFFICE SAYING IM SEEING TOO MANY DOCTORS THATS COSTING THE HOSPITAL TO MUCH MONEY IVE NEVER NOWN A DOCTOR TO TALK LIKE THIS TO A PATIENT HER JOB IS TOO CARE AND HEEL THE PATIENT OF WHATS BOTHERING THEM, I FEEL I DESERVE A SERIOUS APOLIGY, I DONT DESERVE TO BE TREATED THIS WAY BUY NO ONE. THIS IS GRONDS FOR DISAPLENTARY ACTION. I HATE TO HAVE TO DO THIS, BUT DR MINDY A SCHWARTZ HAS GONE TO FAR. VERY SENCERLY

Outstanding and caring physician.

Office visits at University of Chicago Hyde Park location usually require a bit of a wait. Mindy Schwartz is also seeing patients one day a week at 150 East Huron and, in my experience, there is no waiting time at that location. Dr. Schwartz is more than a five star doctor: she has laser-type listening skills, she is super intelligent, ultra experienced, a patient advocate of the rarest sort she connects and directs her patients to what they need most and makes certain they have access to what is best for them (in one case she referred me to someone outside of U of C!) She is respectful of every question, offers explanations at the level needed by the individual. Seemingly overbooked at times, she spends whatever time necessary with each patient so I've always been quite content to wait beyond my "appointment time" for I know I will not be given short shrift. She never drops the ball, her follow up concern and care is so admirable it's almost surprising. One small example:… resides in an unsolicited e-mail I received from her after a garden variety CBC: "Great numbers!" she wrote. She has kept me on the road of good health!

Mindy Schwartz is a focused listener and a wide ranging thinker. She is at ease with and adept at connecting her patients with the most appropriate and finest specialty practitioners. Clinic notes describe me as a complex patient with "multiple morbidities." I, however, describe myself as a wonderfully healthy and active 72 year old despite what the record shows. I know that Doctor Schwartz stays abreast of my treatment and progress with other specialists. She is always quick to return a call or an e-mail and always available to support and help me negotiate the, sometimes, complicated medical system. I cannot find a single flaw in her skill, attitude, commitment and good humor. She is a revered teacher and each of her students recognize her as an iconic model and they see, in her actions, the doctor they hope to become.
