He wouldn't answer my questions on the phone call he initiated. When I didn't return his handshake, he stuck his hand in my face, then put it on the notepad in my lap. Rather disgusting action, I might say. He wouldn't allow me to ask questions at MY appt, basically told me to be quiet and take notes, he would do the talking. Argued with me on what sets off asthma in me, insisted that the labwork was more accurate than the medical history I gave. Huh?? Wanted me to start some risky expensive therapy, but wouldn't answer questions about that. I will not go back to this .... doctor. And, I hope to high heaven that I am not ever assigned to him if I ever have to go to the ER for an asthma attack.

This doctor wouldn't pay attention to my asthma history, he insisted I had told him I had been in hospital several times for it, been on steroids frequently, (I had never told him that. I now wonder if the pcp did say that to get me an appointment with someone. ) He also told me it was ridiculous to have any pets with asthma. I told him I don't react to them. I also don't react to our grown children's pets. He couldn't understand how the IgE was so high for them, if I wasn't reacting to them, being continually exposed to animals. I pointed out that I'd had a severe allergic reaction to an antibiotic years ago, and am still dealing with a skin condition that started then. He brushed that off, and told me to go to a dermatologist. I told him I already had, and he can feel free to ask them about a skin biopsy I had, to which they said it was due to some sort of allergy. He also brushed that off. Well, I'm not doing the biopsy again...... He also doesn't answer patient's questions. He… brushed them off at the first appointment, on the phone, when he called me about "some wonderful drug he want me to start" ,while I was trying to get on the road to my grandkids. I asked him about it, but he only said he'd discuss it at the appointment. Which I had to miss a rare year-end subbing assignment for.... I asked again about it, as he was already taking up my time. He wouldn't answer, just reminded me of the appointment ( I didn't need a reminder.) At appointment, after refusing his handshake (because of his attitude at first appointment and on the phone) he kept sticking his hand in my face. I ignord it, greeted the med student with a nod and smile, then began asking my questions. I'm told "W'ell get to that later, ok?" while he talks to med student, for Five minutes. I sit, shaking my head at the inaccuracies he was telling the med student about my personal med history, and said "That isn't what I have had going on." and he says, "You keep writing your notes while I teach" Really??? Plus, I had already written down my questions and was waiting to get a chance to ask them. I never got to ask them, he never explained that drug, even though I asked again. When he said he was going to make me an appointment to start that drug (with a black box warning....I'm already severely allergic to some drugs, and sensitve to others ), I said I hadn't even had my questions answered about it, so if he can' t do that, I wasn't interested. He said no answers needed. I am not going back to this doctor. He is arrogant, condescending, and rather pushy. I hope I never have another incident to need the ER for asthma. I don't want to get stuck with him directing my care. EVER. Sorry this is so long. I tried to edit it, but it is all important. About ratings below- "Follow up" does not apply. I won't be going back. "Accurate diagnosis". I already knew I had asthma. He tried to get me to do a pulmonary funtion test, "to see if I had asthma" ??
