Dr. Mingsang Lin, MD

Here's my story with Dr. Lin. My partner and I got our NZ immigration medical checkup done by him and we thought he did a decent job initially. There was one concern we had though- he demanded the money for physical checkup to be given in CASH ONLY, and it was NOT affordable or equivalent to what other clinics charge in Hawaii. He asked for $400 for just a physical checkup, so we had to pay $800 IN CASH. For a medical setting, this was rather odd, but we complied. Once my blood test reports came back and I had some questions, I tried to contact him but he refused to return my call and his staff started acting rude. When I asked for a copy of the medical test results that he had uploaded online, his staff blatantly refused to help provide it and after several attempts, he did not call me back or provide us a copy. Our 2nd experience with his office was even worse. My partner tried to setup an Australian immigration medical checkup with Dr. Lin, and the staff took down our details but… did not call back to schedule it for over 10 days! When I called to check about scheduling it, I got put on hold several times only to be told that the doctor is REFUSING to see us. I asked them why, and they said that he had seen our google review expressing concern over our last experience with his rude staff and since we were dissatisfied, he did not want to help us with Australian immigration. I was baffled by this logic, I mean, who says no to seeing people in a medical setting over a google review?! I tried to make the staff understand that he was the only doctor in the entire state of Hawaii who is on the Australian medical panel and so if he doesn't help us, we would have to spend thousands of dollars to fly out-of-state to get it done. The staff displayed NO empathy and asked us to FLY TO ANOTHER STATE. My partner even went to the office physically to make sense of this and they were extremely rude to him. We edited our google comments to give him 5-star reviews, but that was not enough either. Now I wonder how many of the 5-star reviews were actually coerced out of people by Dr. Lin. He's abusing his power of being the only immigration panel doctor in Hawaii and also not performing his duties (while acting as an agent of other nations)- all because of a google review. In the end, we had to end up flying to California for this and everyone we shared this experience with agreed that Dr. Lin is the most unprofessional doctor they had heard of. No one should be forced to fly out of state when a panel doctor is available in their own state. We had to pay the price for his ego and I hope no one else ever goes through this. Please beware of him and his staff and don't waste your time and resources here! California was cheaper and way more efficient!

Dr. Mingsang Lin is the best, most professional and gentle Doctor to be found.

He has been my doctor since 14 years old (and I'm 31). He has always been patient through all my health issues and continues to do a greag job!!

I was involved in an car accident and was deferred from him because "he doesn't treat those injuries". I called several times and each time I was told I couldn't. I asked for numbers of specialist or other doctors I could see and was given "I don't know" and check it yourself answers.

The most outstanding memory with Dr. Lin is he rushes with his patient, me. I was suffering with back pain, I had a lump on my back and all he did was tell me, "no need for xray, it is going to go away by itself". How dare can a doctor diagnose without any sort of tests. I just felt that Dr. Lin didn't have the passion for me as his patient who was suffering pain. His staff needs customer service training for a healthcare setting. This doctor's office can greatly improve if the doctor and his staff would have passionate hearts for the human beings they see. Thank you.

VERY kind and caring doctor and staff. I would recommend Dr. Lin to my family and friends, and anyone who is looking for a doctor with a heart.

I'm switching doctors after only 3 visits. I was misdiagnosed, I couldn't get a referral, and the receptionist was tired, angry, rude, bitter and unreasonable.

Dr. Lin listens very well and is very attentive. Unfortunately I had to switch after 4 appointments. I first went in for back pain, which he diagnosed as a pulled muscle, but later that day I had body chills, a fever, and very bad back pain, went in the very next day to find out it was a kidney infection. My third appointment I went in to get the H1N1 shot and had a violent reaction to it and I went in for the last time; to which he gave me a variety of medicine which did not help, so I went to my parents doctor who then told me all the medicine I was given wasn't the right type of medicine. after seeing my new physician with different medicines, I started feeling better that night. I might have had unfortunate events with him, but I haven't had any events like that with my new doctor.
