Dr. Minninder Jit Sandhu, MD

My appointment did not start well. I showed up early but was seen over 40 min late. Dr. Sandhu did not apologize. She went over my health history in excruciating detail with me, then refused to give me a diagnosis. She spent quite some time convincing me not to go back on my old medication, but offered no alternative that could help. In fact she failed to take any of my symptoms seriously at all. At one point, she actually laughed at me. She accused me of faking my symptoms or bringing them upon myself, including the symptoms of an unrelated physical health condition which she did not evaluate me for. I'm not a confrontational person and tried to remain polite. But as soon as I got back in my car and closed the door, I started sobbing. I wish I could forget the whole thing, but I've been unable to bring myself to see another mental health professional since. It's been months now, but I'm afraid someone else would reject me just like she did. I left her office feeling so hopeless and… invalidated. I've been in and out of treatment for years, but I've never encountered such a fundamental lack of empathy or professionalism. I only hope no one else has to experience this.

I've been under her care for 2 years. I saw many LCW and psychologists before her over the years and none have come close to her level of understanding, clarity and empathy. Highly recommend her if you can get in.

Sympathetic but no nonsense practical demeanor, knowledgeable and professional.
