He earned his Doctor of Medicine at the University of Illinois, Chicago’s College of Medicine and then moved to the bay area to pursue his internship in the Department of Surgery and the University of California, San Francisco, East Bay. After completing his residency in Anesthesiology, Dr. Ali went on to complete his Pain Management Fellowship at Stanford University, Palo Alto. Dr. Ali also spent a focused year of surgical spine management at Kaiser Oakland Medical Center. Dr Ali has been involved with spine care and pain management for over 15 years and has served as the Director of Pain Management Services for John Muir Health for the past 7 years. He has several research publications to his name and has received numerous awards. As a pain management specialist, Dr Ali partners with his patients to improve their daily function while helping minimize their need for opiates.
