Dr. Mira Shin, MD

I have never experienced so thorough exam from a single doctor during one visit in my life. I came with abdominal pain, and was prepared for a 10-15 min conversation followed with MRI or Ultrasound prescription. Boy, was I wrong. I was literally feeling like a House MD patient - Dr. Shin pulled enormous amount of information which I thought was irrelevant, including injuries I got 25 years ago. After 40 (!) minutes long conversation and filling 2 pages in her notebook with notes she asked me several question if I experienced such and such problem which seemed irrelevant to me before - and every time I had to say yes. Apparently, my problem was caused by the jammed nerve in my back; then dr. Shin performed some nerve relaxation technique, applied a patch to my back and my condition improved instantly.

Dr. Shin is a solid physician who helped me with my medical issue related to disabling back pain. She does not use a patient portal or have a partnering MD. Fax communication or phone only. Her office cancelled multiple appointments due to personal issues (sickness, travel problems) leaving me without care for period of time. Her office did not supply medical records to my disability company for the 2 months I was out of work. They requested them over 3 months. Was told records are "on their way". They never arrived. I asked if I could pick up the records and send them. No response. My disability claim was denied.

Dr. Shin doesn't use electronic medical records so it takes forever for her to take down your history, essentially eating up time of your appointment. She talks on and on about herself and treats you as if you don't have any patient rights, as she doesn't let you get a word in unless she deems it time to do so. I would not go back to her nor recommend her.

I met DR Mira Shin at my job ( Dch Paramus Honda). I had been in recovery from two different surgeries and needed physical Therapy. Everyone talks about how they are the best at what they do. I would highly recommend go to her if you need someone in her field. You will not regret the experience.

Dr Shin truly is a game changer if you have chronic pain. Her ability to quickly and accurately diagnose the problem and find ways to relieve the symptoms of the pain is astounding! She is compassionate and caring above and beyond most doctors and is able to bring the best of the best surgeons and specialists if they are ever needed as was the case with me. I got to get back to a very active life thanks to Dr Shin. I cannot recommend her enough!

Dr. Shin will take the time to listen first, formulate an effective treatment and then apply it with the upmost professionalism and care. A healer in every sense of the word.

Dr. Mira Shin is a miracle worker! After 2 days of walking art fairs for work my feet and back were in so much pain. I honestly didn't think I would be able to finish the week. I went to see her and she diagnosed my posture and spine in minutes. Then she wrapped and taped my back and feet to correct the imbalances. The next day I was a new man and was able to finish the weeks worth of trade shows without any back pain or blisters on my feet.

I had a pine surgery 25 years ago, since then I have visited about 15 different doctors .None of them have helped me the the way DR. Shin helped me right after the first visit. From having trouble walking ,bending and feeling all my muscles tense ,I feel like a new born who can walk and run with no pain. She even helped me loose weight . She is by far the best physician I have ever seen. and must to see for who ever has any kind of discomfort.. Her practice is clean,the staff is friendly,and another thing that I like is that I never waited more them 5-10 minutes to see the doctor.She is extremely punctual on seeing her patients on time.

Dr. Shin is a phenomenal doctor. She is highly skilled, attentive, and compassionate. She's interested in knowing all the details about what you're experiencing, in order to give you the absolute best treatment. Dr. Shin's approach is holistic. She deals with all aspects of your illnessâ?? physical, mental, social, emotional. Dr. Shin assured me "don't worry, you will get your life back", and she made it happen.

After spending over 14 months with various doctors, specialists and physical therapies for chronic, accelerating pain with no improvement or pain relief, i found Dr. Shin. Over the course of 12 months, I went from being barely able to function, unable to lift my right arm and suffering from terrible chronic unremitting pain, to being able to now use my right arm with very diminished pain levels in my neck, shoulder, shoulder blade, upper back, right arm, right hand and lower back. Dr. Shin spends time with me, explains what is going on with my nerve, disc and muscle issues, and works with me to help restore function and relieve the pain. I have never had a doctor go into so much detail and spend so much time to ensure i not only understood what was going on and why, but also provided relief to such a great extent. This is a working relationship between Dr. Shin and myself where I have to be an active participant and follow the therapies and treatments she recommends. Some… patients may have an issue with this approach, but if you don't follow her advice, don't expect improvements. Whenever I had a question and needed to speak with her by phone, she would get back to me within a day, and mostly on the same day. I would highly recommend Dr. Shin. She is an excellent practitioner.
