Dr. Mirela Dumitrescu, MD

I have been seeing this doctor for about six months. During this time she started and stopped my steroid treatment four times, which from what I’ ve read is not good. I am no better and am now questioning if my diagnosis is correct. Last appointment I had, she kept me waiting over one hour and she was not busy! Don’t waste your time. Find another rheumatologist, Like I am doing now.

I have seen this Doctor once and that was 1 visit too much. She is extremely rude and unprofessional. Total lack of concern for her patient's medical care. She orders blood work and then No Result given. I am the patient and I did not attend medical school therefore, when I see a new doctor I print out information that might be helpful for the new doctor to review and 3 times in the exam room she asked me to read the medical reports to her. After expressing that I cannot even pronounce the words, she still insisted that I read it to her. Unfortunately there's few RA doctors around and when I spoke with Barbara from this office and asked if I can please see a different RA doctor in their practice, she told me that she would need to speak with the manager and that they normally do not change Doctors. After just one visit here I was not going to have to beg them to see me. I would rather go without seeing a RA doctor than to EVER go back to this place again!!!!! I bet that… after a horrible experience they have already charged my insurance... They did NOTHING TO HELP ME AND JUST CAUSED ME FRUSTATIONS AND LEFT WITH NO ANSWERS STILL. Thanks for nothing!!!!

Dr. Dumitrescu always ran late for appointments. Set up a video visit was contacted days in advance to make sure I didn't miss these appointments and she was late or never showed up. Never received a call from staff or doctor to apologize or reschedule. Left messages to call regarding issues I was having she never returned my calls. Requested an in person visit and receptionist said "I wasn't considered important enough to see." DO NOT recommend this doctor! There are other outstanding physicians that are willing to treat your illness and the fact that she is still taking new patients when she is not or unwilling to take care of patients she currently has is a discredit to the profession.

Dr Dumitrescu has been treated me since 2010 when I was diagnosed with SLE ,and I planned to become pregnant . I trust her with my life. She is thoughtful in her treatment plan,conservative but was aggresive when I had kidney failure. She is a rare find.

She is a highly competent and caring professional. She didn't make me feel as if I was a nuisance with my complaints. She made me feel like she actually cares about my health and well being.
