Dr. Miriam Lissette Rivera Irizarry, MD

I want to share my experience with Dr. Miriam L. Rivera Irizarry at St. Peter Medical Group. I am a deaf patient, and I was not provided with a video interpreter during my visit. I waited a long time, but no interpreter was brought to help with communication. This made me feel ignored and disrespected. When I tried to communicate, the doctor refused to write on paper with me. That made the situation worse and left me feeling very frustrated. Deaf patients need equal access to communication — not to be ignored or left without help. Every deaf person has the right to clear communication under the ADA law. I should not have to struggle or wait just to understand my doctor. Communication access is very important for my health and safety. I hope this office will take my complaint seriously and make changes to treat deaf patients with respect, provide interpreters on time, and make sure we receive equal care like everyone else. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Excellent Dr and staff

The staff is excellent and helpful. Dr Miriam Rivera Irizarry was very professional, informative and answer all my questions.

My father was seen by this "doctor" for hallucinations and mental confusion which only began less than 2 months ago. Instead of referring him to a neurologist right away she ordered tests and gave him meds for dementia / alzheimers. Also told his wife that he was senile from old age. Mind you symptoms only began less than 2 months ago alzheimers doesnt progress that fast. Long story short he is now in sitting in a hospital with encephalitis.

Dr Miriam Rivera is not professional. She is very rude same as her daughter (the receptionist). You have to wait for a long time. She discuss your personal information in front of others. I would never recommend this doctor to anyone.

This office is very chaotic.The fact that they make it a walk in clinic adds greatly to the chaos. They violate hippa laws by discussing your personal medical buisness in the area where blood is drawn that has no closure & is right by another area where they make patience sit & wait. They seem to really only cater to Spanish people- (case & point)-they answer the phones speaking in Spanish, tv in waiting area is only on spanish channel,most all the signs hanging in office is written in spanish,whole staff seems to be only spanish.Should cater to both English & Spanish.Answer the phone in both languages. I hate to feel like I am being talked badly about in Spanish.Very dissatisfied with qaulity of care.I could complain about so much more but I will leave it at this.

Doctor was confused, mentioned offering one diagnostic test then forgot about it upon completion of the consultation. Did that with three different recommendations. Her nurse was rude and made jokes about patients. Making fun of them.
