Dr. Mirtha Kelijman, MD

Last week I attended an appointment with the doctor to see the results of an exam. I did not receive any diagnosis, prescription or comment about the exam supposedly because she could not read it well, that is, I went for nothing because I did not get any medical concept, however I had to pay the consultation money and when I wanted to make the claims they told me that she had talked with me. Then charge for talking or healing?

I was impressed with Dr. Kelijman from the moment she was called to consult in the emergency room. She was able to diagnose a very rare condition and would not give up until her initial feelings were confirmed. I have had family members in all the top New York hospitals. She was as competent as any of the medical professionals I have encountered, without an air of arrogance. I would trust her implicitly!!! A true gem!!!

I was kept waiting 40 minutes, so not five stars, but she apologized and explained. So ok. Medically, I found her to be thorough, she took the time to explain a lot, was very warm and had an air of someone with real experience. I see a lot of doctors, she made a good impression.

I have read many of the other comments about her bed-side manner and personality. Those are not reasons to see an endocrinologist! She has ALWAYS taken the time I need to get answers, and never once rushed me. At the beginning, she was all business, but as time has gone on, she has become much warmer. She is very busy, and gets right to the point! I am an older, newly diagnosed case of Type 1 diabetes, and she has worked with me to manage the disease every step of the way

I have lived in 6 countries(USA, Singapore, Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia,and Switzerland) and she was the worst Doctor I've experienced in all 6 countries. She was late, made multiple mistakes, which I had to correct her on in terms of writing down my answers to her questions and I fired her within 30 minutes of meeting her. This was the worst experience I've ever had with a doctor, and I' middle aged. I have read reviews that she doesn't listen and can verify them as she made 4 mistakes in 10 minutes based on not listening to my answers to her questions. This is the first time in my life I've felt a need to give a poor review for service as I usually just take it in stride. However, this was such an awful experience, that I felt the need to provide this review.

Dr. "K" and staff are wonderful! in ALL respects!

Dr Keligman is very cold and matter of fact. Her thinking is very old school and she doesn't seem to believe in any new or alternative treatments. I believe she knows what she is doing but I wonder if she really listens to patients concerns.
