Instead of referring me to a place that could help me she decided to take it upon herself to treat my mental illness. She was always disheveled in appearance...unbrushed teeth with obvious plaque adherence, flip flops, and a house dress on. Very unkempt for a doctor. She was very ugly to me at our last patient doctor visit when all that was needed was a professional and simple decline to give mental health treatment. I’m talking about arms crossed, rigid posture, furrowed brow, pursed lips, ugly tone, and saying things to me she didn’t need to say at all. Here I am a schizophrenic and bipolar, and let’s face it, mental health treatment in this country is awful. I sought her out for help, but she thought it best to go inpatient. She tore into me for not leaving my entire house and husband in an hours time to get admitted as inpatient. I didn’t end up going as she wanted and had set up for me. I honestly think she may have some of the same problems as me, and that is the reason for her… inappropriate interactions as a doctor. In any case I would see someone else. I don’t think she knows when to delegate or refer to another speciality when needed on behalf of the patient. I think she likely has a strong background in chronic disease management and prevention, but for other issues she should be have the discretion and autonomy as a professional to refer patients to specialists as would have been most appropriate in my situation and I’m sure many others.

Where ever she came from she needs to leave Nea Im thinking about changing hospitals until Nea gets rid of these bad hospitalist so called doctors. Say NO to charlamagne

NEA Baptist hospital is a wonderful hospital. The nurses, staff, and doctors are wonderful. DR. Charlemagne was the only part of the experience that was bad during an already difficult time. Please, please, take a moment and put yourself in the patients and their family members position. Some day you will be in that position, I would never wish bad on anyone, I hope you do not have a doctor who behaves as badly and childish as you did to my parents, or one that makes you feel as awful about yourself as you did my parents. Even after they told me all that happened, my mom still called you beautiful.
