Why I chose to pursue a career in healthcare:The overall goal for me has always been to alleviate suffering. Medicine is a field that is entirely devoted to this goal and I am very thankful for the opportunity to help people along their paths of life.What I want my patients to know about me:My clinical area of interest is in the treatment of addictions. I have focused my training in this specialty, not only in the treatment of substance use disorders (such as opioids, alcohol, and nicotine) but also in behavioral addictions (such as gambling and gaming). Additionally, I am a strong advocate for the use of medication assisted treatment. As a physician I believe that there are many times when medications are very appropriate and helpful. However, I believe that changes in lifestyle (such as exercise, diet, and sleep) are very appropriate and helpful too. I take this into consideration when working with you to develop a treatment plan. I will work with you to meet you where you are at, …and to help you with what matters most to you.What I do when I'm not seeing patients:I enjoy spending time with my friends and family. In addition, I enjoy playing a variety of sports (most recently endurance sports and soccer).
