Dr. Mitchell Clark Kuppinger, MD

Dr Kuppinger diagnosed my husbands sleep apnea and has treated him for years. He is a kind, caring, and knowledgeable. In my book this makes him a wonderful doctor.

I have only had two appointments with Dr. Kuppinger after having changed from another sleep specialist who I hadn't seen in a couple of years. I was very impressed with how much time he took with me, how much attention he paid to my medication list (long) and how he took whatever time was necessary to discuss options. I'll see over the long term what results he can produce (which could not be much worse than my previous experiences), but so far I would recommend him without reservation.

He was unwilling to work to solve any problems that weren't extremely simple. Didn't listen to what I said (transcript of first meeting had several errors, including stating that I took a medication that I've never even heard of). Website states that one can self-refer, which is not true. Phone system has said "bear with us" for over a year. No one here cares except the sleep techs, who are very nice. Other staff seem clueless. I had to threaten a hipaa violation just to get my records b/c they wouldn't provide them after multiple requests.

Dr Kuppinger is patient and friendly, he has a broad spectrum of knowledge involving the lungs. He is one of the very few in Texas who offer the procedure for insertion of a Trans Tracheal Oxygen Catheter (TTO2)as an excellent alternative to the standard use of a canula those with impared lungs and requiring supplemental O2. I highly recomment him for those interested in exercising and becoming more active by using the TTO2 equipment.
