Dr. Mitchell Miglis

Excellent doctor!

One of the best doctors have seen, I couldn't ask for better care. I don't usually post on these sites (typically havens for dissatisfied patients), but felt the need after seeing the two negative reviews. Dr Miglis spent over an hour with me and I felt like he truly listened. Highly recommended.

He misdiagnosed me because he failed to listen to a word I said for the most part. Other times he would ask me a question about my physical experience and then tell me I was wrong. No, my body is not that tired. Wrong, I do have numbness there, etc. So I ended up with an erroneous diagnosis and many useless tests to undergo as well as useless meds (that were actually contraindicated for someone with my history ). He also failed to enter the orders for my follow up tests and the requests for insurance authorization into the system, though he did schedule the appts, so I ended up having to pay full price- since my insurance requires prior authorization. My family has faced cancer, stroke, heart problems, mental illness, so all in all many docs in many departments and he provided the worst care and experience.

I saw Dr. Miglis for postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS) related insomnia. During the appointment, I explained that I was currently taking Lorazepam and had previously been taking Restoril. Dr. Miglis suggested I switch to Lunesta. I followed his advice and experienced a suffering that is simply indescribable. What I did not realize at the time was that I was going through benzodiazepine withdrawal. I left two messages for Dr. Miglis seeking his help and advice. He did not return my phones calls. I'm not sure what is worse...an insomnia doctor who doesn't understand the necessity of tapering off of benzos or a doctor who cares so little for his patients that he doesn't bother to return their phone calls. I would not recommend Dr. Miglis under any circumstances.
