Dr. Mitra Dastgheyb, MD

Dr. D is a very knowledgeable and personable physician. I am impressed with her knowledge of medications and their interactions.

I had my first (and last) appointment with this doctor last Monday. She was abrupt, rude and seemed to have a real problem with my sexual orientation- she continually brought it up... She used a very old machine to check my blood, berated me about my diabetes when I knew the bloodsugar she got on her machine was wrong. She lectured me about how I am lucky to have my vision, am not on dialysis, and since I didn't have feeling in one of my toes that I would face amputation. She refused to give me a script for insulin and suggested I have my pharmacy call her if I wanted one. I checked my blood when I got to my car and it was no where near the level she said it was. Medically negligent as she asked my to put the total in my pump and then (thankfully) let 9 units is insulin drop onto the floor. I have reported her to my insurance, American Board of Internal Medicine, and the state board of health. Her receptionist was extremely nice and welcoming; very deceiving for the… experience I was about to have in that outdated exam room! Avoid at all costs!!!

Dr Mitra Dastgheyb is great DR i felt accepted by her she explained to me my lab work she send me to specialist she gave me f/u appointment that mean she wants to cure me lots of great quality i saw on her that this days you do not see it on every Dr i am very pleased re my visit with her god bless Dr mitra dastgheyb

Please avoid Dr. Dastgheyb at all costs. I have no idea what kind of business she is running, but it is just her and her husband (who is the receptionist). When I call the office for follow-up appointments or questions, her husband tries to give me medical advice and guidance over the phone! I asked him if he was a nurse or a physician and he got very defensive and avoided the question. I also have no trust in Dr. Dastgheyb either. When I tried to explain my medical history and symptoms to her, she just stares at you as if she has no idea what you are saying. When she starts to speak, she starts to talk about something completely different! I have no idea how she is even a physician. The whole office just seems very odd. Please go to another endocrinologist who is more established and with more experience.

My primary care physician found I had Type II diabetes and was treating me with non-insulin medication for several years. The FDA found problems with one of themes I was on and my doctor substituted another one, but was not familiar with all of the alternatives, so I decided to check with an endocrinologist. Dr. Dastgheyb concurred with my doctorâ??s diabetes treatment, but she also thought to check my Vitamin D and calcium. She found a significant VitaminD deficiency that my primary care physician had never tested for, despite some bone loss I had been experiencing! While her male receptionist was perhaps more curt than the typical young women who often have those jobs, he was extremely efficient.

This was the rudest and most condescending Dr. and staff (husband) receptionist, I have ever seen. Dr. answers only the questions she chooses. If confronted about anything, you are threatened in regards to your scripts. Husband (receptionist) is beyond horrid. He is confrontational beyond compare. Try at your own risk!!

I had been seeing Dr. Dastgheyb for a few years and continually complained of the same symptoms. Regardless of my symptoms and request to be treated, she continued to to tell me that I was fine and did not need any treatment. Six months ago I switched to a new Endo. He thoroughly examined me, followed up with testing and found cancer in my thyroid. I can't imagine how much worse off I would be had I not switched doctors. Do yourself a favor and find someone who is willing to follow through and who actually cares about you as a patient.

Dr. Dastgheyb is a thorough and knowledgable doctor, however I found her to be somewhat condescending. The biggest problem, however, is NOT the doctor, it is a man in her office staff. I had great difficulty in getting prescriptions filled and was accused of being dishonest when I misunderstood what the procedure was. My phone calls were not returned. In fact, I had to make every contact myself. My discomfort grew until I felt that it would be better to consult another doctor..
