Dr. Mohamed Hassan, MD

Provider kept stating I was young and healthy after multiple times telling him I am seeking infertility treatment and that I should be healthy without problems due to my age. Also brought up the ceo Optum murder as I work at Optum.

Dr. Hassan didn't take the time to prepare for our appointment. He didn't remember the details of the action plan discussed in previous appointment. One of my meds wasn't included in my chart nor he knew I was taking it. When I was telling him that I had abdominal pain on my right side and said that my primary doctor ordered an ultrasound and CT scan back on Nov and Dec, he was reviewing them as we spoke. He discovered that I had a 1 cm liver hemangioma which I had no idea what it was and when I asked him, he responded by asking if English was my second language. He pulled his cellphone and showed me the definition of that. He said no to be worried about it and will be monitored during future ultrasounds. Then I asked why did I have pain on my right side and his answer was because there are nerves in between the rib cage that could cause that.Last, I asked about my existing condition not being reversible and he said, who told you that? That's old information, and he said by me losing… weight it could help me lowering to an F2 stage. His goal is to make sure I see my grandkids. The plan will be to do labs in 3 months because my hemoglobin was NOT part of the labs I did a week ago. Ultrasound in 3 months and an appointment with him in 6 months. I asked if I should continue the Glp1 med until then and he responded to check with the physician prescribing.

Provider failed to log into PC. Declined help to do so. Didn't explain the labs or procedures intended to order. Wasn't able to even order them same day.

The doctor didn't introduce himself. Came in and sat down on the computer muttering to himself while signing into the computer. He spent more time talking about himself, his research, papers published, grants he received, and people he knows than asking about my problems or explaining what was going on. He used my phone and made me look up a paper he co-authored with Anna Lok. One of the worst medical encounters I have had besides downright malpractice. I don't know how you can keep this guy employed. I plan to see a different doctor next time.

I found him to be a poor listener - I was interrupted at least once. When he proposed an option, I said I had spoken with my PCP and did not want to pursue that option. He said, "you can always change your mind," minimizing and invalidating the decision I had come with my PCP I felt condescended to. Though I had seen him three months before, he did not seem to remember our previous conversation and things I had shared with him in spite of the fact that he had taken notes. He shared about his family with me (showed me pictures, etc) which presumably was an attempt to build rapport, but it felt like an imprudent use of limited time. I will be seeking out a different specialist.

Spent time getting to know me not just my problem. Dr. Hassan dressed very nice. I appreciate a physician who takes the time to look nice and professional.

The dr. was very personable and easy to talk to.
