Dr. Mohamed Koronfel, MD

Dr. Koronfel is an anesthesiologist and interventional pain management specialist who has recently joined the team at MD Pain Care. He is double board-certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology in Pain Medicine and Anesthesiology. He is very excited to serve the community here and his goal is to use an individualized patient-focused multidisciplinary approach to identify the underlying cause of pain and apply the most advanced and up-to-date treatment practices in order to relieve his patients' discomfort and help them restore function and be able to gain their lives back.During medical school, Dr. Koronfel became interested in anesthesia, as well as the many different interventional procedures involved in pain management.Dr. Koronfel completed his residency training in anesthesiology and perioperative medicine at the University of Miami in Florida. He then underwent fellowship training in pain management at the biggest program in the country, the world-renowned Cleveland …Clinic Foundation in Ohio, where he was trained and mentored by the top experts in the field of pain medicine.He has a special interest in treating a variety of pain conditions including chronic neck and back pain, failed back syndrome, joint pain, abdominal pain, peripheral neuropathy, and complex regional pain syndrome. Dr. Koronfel has also published papers and book chapters as well as presented various studies at national meetings. His clinical areas of focus are non-invasive and minimally invasive new technologies with expertise in nerve blocks, neuromodulation, spinal cord stimulation, implantable devices, compression fracture repair as well as alternative medicine and regenerative therapies.During his free time, Dr. Koronfel enjoys being with his family, volunteering, traveling, gym training, and playing soccer.
