Dr Lateef: Is an empathetic intelligent MD who listens to his patients and prescribes the correct treatment. I have suffered from CRPS and nerve damage and have gotten optimum relief from Dr Lateef's treatment. His staff are wonderful also.

He always take care of his patients always available and very good bed side maners. He always take his time to listen to his patients. I have been seeing him for the last 3 years. Would strongly recommend him.

Dr. Lafeef and his staff are rude. I was having a bad time and a crisis and he could not fit me in for TWO weeks. I told him I would have to see someone else, which I did. Three months later, I need medication refils (for anxiety/panic attacks) and have found that my new doctor left her practice. I called back to Dr. Lateef and was told "we don't have any appointments". Ever. Dr. Lateef had told her to tell me that. I think part of it is that they only take appts 9am-4pm and the past few years I had worked in Chapel Hill and had NO sick leave due to illness/surgery and had a hard time making appointments. Please do yourself a favor and look elsewhere! I read the reviews on Dr. Lateef before becoming a patient and should have taken them to heart. He is incredibly self serving and impossible to deal with. The reviews that state that he is overly concerned with prescribing medications are exactly what I found in my experience with him. He simply doesn't care about meeting the needs of his patients in regards to prescibing the appropriate medications. On more than one occasion he made me feel like and treated me as if I were an addict. I have been on the same medications and same dosages for years! When I asked to be switched to a comprable medication that was available in a generic form, I had to practically beg him to write it despite the over $200 a month difference. I have NEVER had such difficulty with a doctor before. He forced me to book an unnecessary amount of apts with him and then rushed through them. Even took phone calls during my visit! He judges his patients and I… always left feeling worse than when I came in. NOT a good experience. Please, do what I didn't do and take these reviews seriously. There are just too many of them that speak of the same issues for them not to be accurate.

It seems to me that Dr.Lateef is more worried about himself with regards to his medication prescriptions/levels than the patients actual diagnosed needs. He doesn't want to appear to give certain prescriptions that are effective because he thinks everyone is a rockstar and will abuse certain drugs. When on the contrary some of us need different dosages depending upon our diagnosis. Mine of course I received 3 seperate opinions before realizing Dr. Lateef is more worried about being in the press like MJ's doctor than actually treating his patients.

I saw Dr. Lateef in a hospital setting, where he made an assessment after 10 whole minutes. This was a very traumatic time for me, and I didn't feel heard or validated by him. He also gave me incorrect information and did not follow through on things he said he would do. I didn't have a choice, but you do - that's why I want to share this.

He is a very caring doctor and took extra time to care for me and followed up. I have been seeing him for the past 2 years. Highly recommended.

I had a very bad overall experience, Lateef would not listen to my symptoms or other issues and prescribed wrong medicine. I was in urgent need of help in his office one day and he simply told me to go to the hospital instead of trying to help me.
