Fantastic experience, tremendous patient care

Multiple epidural steroid injections during which I experienced the most excruciating pain of my life. I received no noticeable improvement from any treatments.

A late stage cancer patient, I suffered severe chronic pain following surgery, chemotherapy and radiation. Dr. Mehdi was the first physician to suggest a new concept, with a new medication. Now my pain is managed well enough for me to function again at my part-time job. I am grateful to Dr. Mehdi, and find him to be very kind and professional. In addition, his office manager Jaime is wonderful!

terrible experience

I have been seeing Dr. Mehdi for a little over 6 months now and couldn't be more disappointed. I will give the Cliff Notes version of my revue because there is way too much to the story than can be told here. While I elaborate keep one thing in mind, I live AN HOUR away from his office. He began an injection series for my back and I felt like I was being shuffled all the way to his office often times for unnecessary visits with no caring about the price of gas and the lengthy commute for reasons other than to truly help my condition . After making it clear that not only was the treatment having no effect but how am I supposed function on any level with nothing to control my pain? He wanted to continue and was making appts for me several times a month. I finally insisted on only seeing him when there truly was either an injection or an emergency need. So he then begins stressing, in a very condescending manner how much I should lose some extra weight at my visits followed by "So… what is your weakness huh? Is it fried chicken? Macaroni and cheese? Or is it ice cream?" Now call me sensitive if you like but being a plus size African American woman I was actually annoyed and a bit offended by that. I have no problem with physical activity, therapy, my treadmill or any of that but HOW am I supposed to do that while in so much excruciating pain? So in conclusion, after the last injection series SEVERELY worsened my condition and his reluctance to give me any kind of reasonable relief and true quality medical care, I have sought out someone else for my care.
