Dr. Mohammad Awni Zeibo, MD

If I could give zero stars I would. My Mother was admitted thru ER with stroke like symptoms. She had video consult with a neurologist at Oschner’s in New Orleans immediately upon being admitted to hospital in Alexandria. Dr Zeibo tried to keep the hospital from even admitting her, then tried to discharge her before she could receive the MRI that the dr from Oschner’s ordered. This man is dangerous!

He was covering at hospital on a weekend and saw my wife. He based his exam and diagnosis on how well she knew geography (don’t laugh it is true). Prescribed unneeded drugs, answered no questions, and abruptly walked out when a nurse came in. 4 days later her regular neurologist told her to stop taking and throw away the drugs he prescribed. Advice - STAY AWAY FROM THIS GUY!!!.

dr zeibo was the Doctor that found what my condition was and is. A very unusual problem that is called CIDP. He sent me to Shreveport for more test , then said he would bring me back. and when I got back he will not see me, he does have me on a waiting list.

When I was diagnosed with Narcolepsy, my medications were changed until I got to a point where I was doing the best I could do. Then after the struggle to reach this point, without warning or even an appointment he decreased my dosage without telling me. When I called to find out more information his very rude and ill informed office assistant told me he did it because of my side effects, however I didn't have side effects and never reported any. I asked to speak directly to him and was never allowed to. He also wrote prescriptions very inaccurately. He would only give me a 2 month supply but give me a 3 month follow up appointment. Then when running out of meds and calling for refills, his office staff was always rude and not helpful, saying I should have plenty. He also writes prescriptions for meds that don't come in the dosage he writes and I always have trouble with the pharmacy regarding this. He changes his mind frequently about things for no apparent reason and his… office staff has no clue as to what she is saying when it comes to medications, their method of action or half life and told me I read too much! I tried to get something straight with him and he was short and said we would talk about it next time and suggested I find another job because of my tiredness, even though I've worked there for 18 years. I could go on and on but I guess you get the point. I'm very disappointed after having high hopes. I'm feeling like I'm being treated like a drug seeker when, I am only trying to get what he originally prescribed to me. Very Frustrated!!

I think this doctor is only interested in sleep disorders and he should make that plain from the beginning. My wife suffers from epilepsy and the first thing he did was order a sleep test which was a complete waste of time and money. He doesn't listen to what you tell him and doesn't seem to understand the problems we were explaining to him. He kept wanting to up the dosage of the medication after we told him repeatedly this was not something we wanted to do. We get the medication directly from the manufacturer and had a big snafu concerning that. He wrote the wrong dosage so my wife was sent only half the prescription and we had all sorts of trouble trying to sort that out with the manufacturer. Ziebo never contacted us in the first place to tell us he'd received the meds and then when we went to his office he had to look around for them and then told us he thought those were samples sent to him and was about to distribute them to some of his patients. The receptionist flatly… told me they did not receive any until I told her that her name appeared on the delivery ticket which she signed! These people are not professional at all and not to be trusted. It's always a wait for the appointment and get this ...there's seldom anyone in his waiting room! Not happy with this guy at all...

My husband was sent to Dr. Zeibo after suffering from debilitating headaches. These were not ordinary headaches they were excruciating and robbing him of his life as a functional human being. Dr. Zeibo was never anything but kind, patient, and knowledgable. He properly dx, medicated him, and sent him to another physician to manage his pain. Without him, I don't know what my sweet husband would have done. He still takes lots of time with us and still cares about my husbands care. We love Dr. Zeibo.

Dr. Zeibo acted as a consultant/Neuroligist for the VA for a Service Connected injury to muscle and nerve damage exam.His examination took all of 10 minutes , with out any EMG testing and merely taking a small rubber mallet/tuning fork and taping my elbow and thumb. While all of this was taking place Dr. Ziebo had his home country`s music (ARABIC) playing on a CD and it played the entire time of the exam and at times I had to ask him to repeat his conversation because I had trouble hearing him.Just what was he focusing on , me or the music playing?All this Dr. did was make a decission against my condition from old exams and reports as far back as 5 to 6 years ago.This DR.`s lack of professionalism and failure to do a complete therough examination of my on going problem resulted in the VA Regional Office deny any change for me in my claim and setting my claim back .How does this DR. Ziebo sleep at night. After months and years of appointments and exams to have my worsening condition… disability rating increased, from the Vietnam War where I was awarded the C.I.B.w/REEF ( Combat Infantry Badge for being under enemy fire) and the Bronze Star for Valor and 2 Purple Hearts for injuries in combat during my tour of duty in the Republic of Vietnam.I have no respect for this DR. Ziebo, who never did a EMG on me and made a statement that I have no nerve or muscle damage and that I do not rate to have my disability increased. He based his decission on his own behalve to have a positive out come between himself and the VA( he will continue to work for the VA).Did you get a pay raise Dr. Ziebo or a higher GS rating .Thanks a lot Dr. Zeibo , you just helped to put the screws to a Vietnam Veteran and you were only a kid growing up in Seria when I served in Vietnam .

my overall experance at dr zeibo's office was very plesant the wait was not very long he spent plenty of time with me explaining what was going on and the staff was very friendly these days thats a very nice change of pace

Rude and insulting. His assistants are also rather rude. Does not listen as patient is talking. Was to be evaluated to see if I needed sleep study. Did not ask one question about my sleep and said I needed study. Will not go back. Can't imagine how anyone could give this man 4 stars. Must have been his mother!
