Dr. Mohammed Zulfequar Ali, MD

I saw Dr. Ali when I was admitted to the hospital for what ended up being a blood infection. Dr. Ali was very reassuring and spoke very kindly and slowly to me and my sisters. We were all pretty scared and he did not rush us, and gave us plenty of time to ask questions of him. I truly appreciated the way we was able to explain things to us in a simple way, without talking down to us. I will continue to see him now that I am out of the hospital in hopes of finding out what caused the blood infection. I'm very happy to have had Dr. Ali on the team of doctors trying to figure out what was wrong with me.

My husband and I went into his office recently, and after sitting in the waiting room for over an hour, we finally got called back. He was in the room less than 3 minutes, and managed to call us liars and ignore us in that short amount of time. My husband hasn't used drugs in 7+ years, and he basically said he was lying about shooting up, and then just started dismissing anything we said. He even decided to send and receive many texts while we were trying to discuss options with him. He never told us how to proceed, and heavily implied he wouldn't bother with treating my husband because there's no use in treating someone who is still on drugs. Mind you, he has no evidence, no dirty urine, no track marks, etc, to back up his assumptions. They were just that, assumptions. He had made up his mind before we even spoke with him. The texting during our appointment was very disrespectful. At this time, we aren't even sure how to move forward, because he said to just sit back and wait. I gave… 5 stars for the courteous staff, because everyone else in the office, from the ladies out front to the nurses were incredible. The only problem we had was with the doctor himself. I understand my husband has a sordid past, which led him to see this doctor, but he has worked incredibly hard to overcome that past, and build a better life. This is a necessary step in moving forward, and to be completely dismissed by a medical professional who is supposed to help was very discouraging. We left completely dumbfounded as to why we were treated so poorly.
