Dr. Mohammed Samhar Alkhalaf Alali

We saw Dr. Samhar Alali the morning our son was born, and unfortunately, we were very disappointed with the experience. We found his attitude to be arrogant and his approach to be overly medicalized and completely lacking in individualized care. When we chose to decline a specific test that was unnecessary given our low-risk status, Dr. Alali used coercive and alarmist language rather than providing evidence-based information. He used phrases like 'you have to do what’s right for your family' to pressure us, and spoke of 'scarring on the brain' instead of providing actual data or statistics on risks. Most frustratingly, he attempted to justify his insistence by fabricating details and gaslighting our experience ~ labeling my labor as 'traumatic' when it was actually an incredibly positive experience, and claiming my newborn was not feeding properly despite the fact that he latched perfectly just 15 minutes after birth. When we made the decision to decline the testing, the doctor did… not take the time to understand our perspective. We felt pressured and judged rather than supported during what should have been a very special time. We would have preferred a provider who respects parental informed consent and treats patients as individuals.
