Dr. Mohammed Ayoub, MD

I'm on the hunt for a new psychiatrist (my previous one only handles postpartum patients) and went to Dr. Ayoub. The wait time was egregious - over 45 mins., and when I got to finally see him, he made lots of judgmental comments about me having a baby at 40. Unfortunately, due to some infertility issues and multiple miscarriages, we had our son later in life - but Dr. Ayoub chose to lecture me on how dangerous that was, the risk of birth defects, and decline in egg quality. He also made the assumption that I was done having children, and when I said I didn't know if that was the case - he again proceeded to tell me how risky that was - but how with all the early testing they have nowadays, I could just abort the baby if I wanted to. Then he proceeded to ask a bunch of questions about my son - if he was "ok". I felt like the visit focused more on my reproductive choices (which are NOT his business - if I wanted to have a baby at 50, it's not his concern) and not on my mental… health/medications. I was very upset and not satisfied - very miffed I had to pay for the visit just to hear him judge a situation he knew nothing about. Will not be returning.

Outstanding Dr. for over 10 yrs. He is caring and a great listener. He has helped me through many trials and tribulations through the years!!! I will continue to see him for years to come!

Spent the whole hour telling me about how genetically modified corn and steroids in beef was causing all of my problems. He made one, only one personal statement about my history. He talked the entire time, knew absolutely nothing about me, Prescribed medication and I had a horrible reaction. The other script the ins./receptionist did not know how to deal with ins. or dr. did not know how to write script. Took 3 days to get insurance to pay.

I have been going to him since I was 17 I am 31 now and have never had a problem with him.

My son has been seeing Dr Ayoub for almost 9 years, he has been wonderful in fact we moved from Pearland to Katy almost 2 years ago and still make the almost 60 mile drive to see Dr Ayoub. I just can't imagine a new Dr, we trust him 100%. Through the years we have seen a few receptionist come and go but his current receptionist, Barbara who's been there a year or two is our favorite, she's a very nice lady and we hope she works there for many years.

I recommend this doctor to everyone, his diagnostics are very accurate, and he listens to you. He really cares for his patients.
