Dr. Mohan Ramalingam, MD

Dr. Ramalingam performed what was supposed to be a simple, minimally invasive surgery on me in Feb. 2022. Unfortunately, he did not use standard of care and failed to use SCDs to prevent blood clots (DVTs). Within 6 days of surgery, I was in the ER diagnosed with 2 blood clots in my legs. I had to go on bloodthinners and to this day, experience swelling in my legs, ankles and feet directly related to the DVTs, which were 100% preventable if Dr. Ramalingam followed standard of care. What was worse is when the swelling began days after surgery, I scheduled an appointment with him, and he stated the swelling was not related to the surgery and wrote me off; I ended up in the ER the next day. I have filed a complaint with the Arizona Medical Board.

He was a wonderful surgeon, good bedside manners, and explained everything clearly.

Dr. Ramalingam has good bedside manner and is probably a good surgeon. Unfortunately, my appendectomy was not a simple case and I developed internal bleeding after discharge from the hospital. I called describing my symptoms and was told that it was common to have bleeding after surgery and to call again if it persisted for more than 24 hours. By the next day, my condition had worsened and I went in to see the Dr. at his office. He kept saying that black diarrhea could be caused by pain killers and I had to keep emphasizing that I wasn't taking any of the prescribed pain killers. After mentioning 3 times the deterioration of my physical condition and continuation of the black diarrhea, he eventually ordered to have blood work done. I ended up not waiting to get the results back and just rushed to the ER later that day. The ER determined that my blood count was half the normal volume. I received a call from the Dr.'s assistant in the hospital the next day saying my blood count was low… on the test, but he was just going to adjust my antibiotic prescription. I informed him I was in the hospital, and never did hear from him again after that. He didn't take my symptoms and condition seriously and I almost paid the price. I wish I could leave a better review, but the post care was horrendous. I would be very cautious about using this doctor.
