Dr. Molly Jo Carlson, MD

I had three appointments with her and I am not going back.

I tried for over two months to make an appointment for my daughter whom was referred by another doctor. It first took them a month to receive the referrals I had to keep calling them about it ,then they needed all her tests which I had to fax. finally, after all those weeks, she said that doctor won't see her because we need more testing done. I don't understand when one doctor determined that she has to be seen, why are they not willing to take a look at her? I was so disappointed with their service and unprofessionalism.

I have been seeing Dr. Carlson for more than 7 years and the only other endocrinologist I've seen that comes close to Molly in displaying compassion and empathy for the challenges of living with T1D, balanced with firmness to "get or stay on track" was an Endo who was living with T1D. I have found her to be open, responsive (both during appointments and outside of visits via email/phone) and encouraging. When our insurance changed a few years back, before we knew if Molly was a PP, my husband and I agreed that continuing to be in her care was a priority, one we would pay out of pocket or fly (if she ever leaves the area) to ensure continuity. Luckily we don't have to. In the time I have been seeing her I have gotten my A1c's back in range, navigated the waters of training for my first half marathon and begun the discussions/planning for care that is necessary to start our family. I highly recommend Molly to any T1D new or otherwise, who are looking for a partner in their care.

I was referred by 5 different doctors - all specialists - to Dr. Carlson. All of them agreed my problems are endocrine related, and that she would be the best person to help me. I have been suffering for a year, have NO quality of life, unable to perform my job to my satisfaction, and MISERABLE. EVERY medical record, chart for the last 3 years, lab test was sent to her in addition to the 5 referrals. SHe will NOT see me. Apparently, she won't diagnose people - doesn't want to get bothered with the tough cases that aren't easy to determine in absence of positive bloodwork. I am so disappointed, and have considered hiring an attorney now for her refusal of medical care. Apparently, my 2 top insurance plans are not good enough for them? I'm one of the rare ones that has the best insurance in the world, and even they say i should see her and will pay for it. I do NOt recommend dealing with this office and am disappointed by her patient reviews.

This doctor is incredibly rude. She is more interested in numbers than actually listening to what I had to say. I did not feel any compassion during my visit from her. Her goal was to get me out of their faster than it took me to get this appt (which was weeks). And Her staff was more concerned about their schedule than patients. I would not recommend her.

I was sent to Dr Carslon by my primary physician. I wasn't very comfortable with her. And she is insanely over-priced.

At 23 i was diagnosed with type 1 Diabetes. MY BG was 760, life as I knew it would never be the same, I was devastated. Dr. Carlson a let me cry, but she also let me know that my life wasn't over. She empowered me to take control of my life and to learn how to manage my new found diabetes. Life has never been better, I feel blessed to have a doctor like her!

I have had a great experience with her and I know that the people I have recommended her to have received great care as well. I met her at the diabetes expo which she runs and she is the best endocrinologist I have ever had in this city. If that last commenter is so unhappy, why do they keep going back? Maybe they need to go treat themselves if they "know so much".

Dr. Carlson is quick to judge and criticize. She doesn't listen, and doesn't show any compassion. I've left several appointments feeling very frustrated. I think her advice is not always very good. Her knowledge comes from a textbook, not the real world, which is frustrating to someone like me who has had diabetes for longer than she's been alive!

I have ever had! I agree with WTD that the complainers on this site are probably the same unhappy person. If you want great care of your diabetes then you HAVE to see her! I have several friends who also see her and love her! dr. Carlson was the first doctor to help me with my insulin pump when no one else would even look at it, and now my diabetes is controlled for the FIRST TIME in my life!! if you truly want to get your diabetes under control then there is no other choice, you wont be sorry!
