Molly E. Mentzer

Our experience with Dr. Mentzer was extremely disappointing. She showed very little of the compassion, patience, or concern that we expected from a physician. This was our first pregnancy, so naturally we had questions and needed reassurance. Instead, her answers provided very little useful information or guidance. During every appointment, she spoke to me in a condescending manner and made us feel as though our questions were an inconvenience. Her attitude gave the impression that she was more concerned with ending the appointment than helping us understand what was happening or making us feel comfortable and supported.

Dr mentzer is a wonderful doctor. I have had no problems . She did a dnc in 2015 I was very happy with her and how she handled it all . I will never complain about Dr mentzer .she is the only doctor I trust in Plattsburgh !

I had a great labor and delivery with Dr.Mentzer. I was nervous because of a traumatic first labor and delivery with a different doctor and Dr. Mentzer took the time to sit and talk with me about my fears and about my options to make sure everything went as smoothly as possible. The birth of my second son was peaceful and easy because I followed Dr. Mentzer's recommendations. I told her that I didn't want an episiotomy even though my baby was measuring close to ten pounds. Another doctor told me that I'd need a c-section because he was too big and his shoulder would get stuck. It scared me, but I still didn't want one. Dr. Mentzer listened to what I wanted and told me that "we'd get this baby out and he and I would be just fine". She was right! I had a very small tear which healed perfectly from her expert repair and you can't even see where it was anymore. Baby was 9.5 pounds and perfectly healthy. It ended up being a great experience. I recommend her to friends all the time.

Dr. Mentzer always treats me with respect and patience. She seems very knowledgeable about any issues I bring to her, and she treats me like an intelligent human being, which I particularly appreciate. Her office staff is also fabulous!

I love this doctor, she is super friendly and makes you feel at ease from the minute she walks in the room.She is professional an knowledgeable.There was very little wait time at the office.I would recommend her to anyone I know.

My experiences with Dr. Mentzer have been overwhelmingly positive so far. She is knowledgeable and competent, and knows just the right questions to ask to help me figure out what's going on with my body. I always feel like she gives me good information - info that I can really use to take care of myself. It's also obvious to me that she really cares about her patients, as she checks back with me to see how the issues are that we've discussed. I feel extremely comfortable with Dr. Mentzer and would recommend her to anyone.

I have gone Dr Mentzer since she delivered our son 4 years ago and I recommend her to everyone I know! She was in the labor room with me for much of my labor which is quite unusual I understand. In the office she is patient and explains everything to me and is always smiling and friendly.

I made the mistake of taking an appointment with Dr. Mentzer because the wait was too long for an appointment with Dr. Coldren. I now know why I was able to get an appointment with Dr. Mentzer so quickly. She could not answer my questions directly and became defensive when I wanted more information. I did not feel comfortable talking with her and she seemed to be in a hurry to leave. My sister also saw Dr. Mentzer and said that she brushed off her questions as well. I was very pleased with all of the other doctors in the practice during my last pregnancy, but I question their judgement in hiring Dr. Mentzer.

I will never go back to this dr. She was unprofessional, rude and arrogant. I have a masters degree in counseling and work in the drug and alcohol field, she had the nerve to ask me if I was a recovering addict! Spent very little time with me, felt very rushed and she seemed insensitive to the fact that I may have fertility problems. I would never recommend her to anyone. Go somewhere else.

Mentzer has an appalling lack of knowledge about medications and their interactions. She doesn't look at allergies written on intake paper. She also does not know how to deal with chronic conditions. She recommends dangerous surgery not connected to ob/gyn. She is nasty to deal with, does not listen to her patients, and talks down to them. It is frightening to have someone so incompetent practicing medicine. She needs to redo her medical training, but is so arrogant she would have to be arrest and have her license taken away to get her to change. Don't risk your health or LIFE with this person.
