Dr. Molly Courtright Shields, MD

Told her I was diagnosed with psoriasis on my body and a yeast infection on my lips. I wanted a refill of two meds for these problems that I got a long time ago from another MD. She told me the first med, for my lips, was not good because of some problems or side effects and recommend another med, so I said OK. Then I asked for the other med and she told me it also had broblems and I could use the one she just recommended for BOTH of my problems. I get the med and find out it is ONLY for the yeast infection on my lips. I called the office to get refills for the original two meds and told them the one I was given wasn’t for psoriasis. Receptionist said Dr Shields never told me it was for the psoriasis! The only reason I walked out of there with only one prescription was because she told me it was for both problems. I even remembered saying that to her, thinking it was a bit strange that it helped two different medical problems. Luckily they are calling in a prescription for… the original two meds. It took me two appointments just to get that one refill because on my first appt. so many things were happening that I forgot to get the Rx. I did say I needed them when I first went in, even showed them the empty tubes. I can now understand why there are other complaints. Also, it shouldn’t take over a month just to get an appointment.

Very nice doctor and competent. I had to wait 3 months for an appointment. She was supposed to map my moles but did a superficial job. I think I saw her for about 7 minutes of my 45 minute appointment. Some lesions had to be cut off. She disappeared, her staff gave me some injections, Dr. Sheilds showed back up, snipped some things off and disappeared. I was left with a photocopy of a pamphlet on post-surgical care and many questions. I won't be returning. I think she is a good doctor but cannot handle the volume of patients.

After scheduling a routine skin check with Dr. Shields she found an area which she felt should be biopsied. I assured her that this spot had been looked at by several doctor throughout the years and that it was no need for concern. She then convinced me that although it was probably nothing to worry about she felt better checking this particular area.After a week or so I received a personal phone call from Dr. Shields in which she informed that I indeed tested positive for a rare type of skin cancer that needed to be removed by a doctor out of the area that specialized in this. She spent quite a long time answering all my questions and was able to get me in to see the other doctor within the week.After my surgery she handled my follow-up care and spent extra time to answer all of my questions and made me feel at ease.I love Molly Shields and would highly recommend her to anyone. because of her persistence, my life was saved.
