Dr. Mona Gabriela Nicolae, MD

Avoid this doctor at ALL costs. I have reported her to the NJ Board of Medical Examiners for neglect. She prescribed medicines and then disappears on you when you start having side effects. Avoid avoid avoid.

Dr Mona made me feel safe, heard, & important during our initial meeting. She has the right questions - questions most psychiatrists don’t ask - she was listening intending and it was obviously clear to me that she cares and is not those run of the mill psychiatrists who pushes meds without really knowing the patient. She did prescribe me medication and discussed with me the concerns I had and why she chose this medication in particular. Obviously everyone reacts to medicine differently, but I don’t think I’ve ever met a prescriber who made me feel safe, cared for, and that I’m not crazy. Dr Mona did all three and in one visit that lasted a little over an hour, she gained my trust. Most docs will spend maybe 10 minutes with you even on the first visit but like I said, she was treating me as a human being and not just a number. Thank you for giving me hope!

Making an appoint with her it's not easy. I waited two months but it was worthwhile. She is smart, very direct but also compassionate.

I like that she uses a combination of psychotherapy and doe not uses high amounts of medication.
