Dr. Monica Anne Koehn, MD

Dr Koehn will forever be highly regarded in our family. We first met Dr Koehn when our 18 month old son was admitted to the icu. He was presenting very peculiar symptoms and by time Dr Koehn was brought in he was intubated and sedated. Dr Koehn immediately went to work to find us answers. Over the next several months Dr Koehn continued to research and collaborate with experts across the country to find us the correct diagnosis and treatment. Dr Koehn was always respectful and took the necessary time to care for our family.

I cannot begin to express the frustration I had with Dr. Koehn. Before making the appointment, I went online to learn more about her. I saw three poor reviews but disregarded them because I figured only people that have bad experiences actually waste their time to write a review. My child’s pediatrician said that he would recommend all the pediatric neurologists at Marshfield Clinic. He’s worked with them all. I saw her once and felt she was put-out by the concerns we had for our child. “What you’re reading is just garbage.” Lack tact at all? Again, I tried to look past it. I’m not looking for a friend but rather a professional to help my child. More serious concerns came up, so we made another appointment. After waiting 45-plus minutes, we saw Dr. Koehn again. I feel like as I’m asking a question she is not listening and coming up with her response before I’m finished. Words I would use to describe this individual: rude (per description of my small child), cold attitude,… inadequate listening skills, total disregard for patient/parents’ fears. If you truly want to help people, learn to relate on an emotional level. Manners and a heart are obviously something she’s missed, and obviously won’t just “learn” at 51 years of age. In closing, don’t make the same mistake I made twice. See someone else and save yourself the frustration and anger.

did not like the doctor. would not answer questions. asked what the lesion on the brain affect what part of body, she only would say that it shrunk. said the other lesions aren't going away. asked if the 6 yr old had ms, she looked at laptop and said spinal tap didn't show it. She said that they had 5 more cases of adem. asked if it was environmental. she said nothing. went on to say that she didn't have to see him anymore. she had him walk, he had trouble with right leg. pigeon-toe and unstable to step with right leg. she asked if he was right or left handed. he was left. she said that the coordination will come in a year. come off it!!! he is six yrs old. she had 2 interns with her. she went up to them and said that the coordination will come next yr. and they all went out the door. if she didn't know, she should had refer us to someone else. that is what makes a good doctor. definitely have no respect for her.

Dr. Koehn is a very thoughtful and caring Doctor. She does a great job with my child, and I appreciate the time that she takes to explain things and answer my questions.
