Dr. Monica Sharma Laimayum, MD

Dr. Laimayum was my niece's PCP up until today. We've decided to "fire" her due to her constant rudeness and condescending manner. At first I thought that she may have just had a bad day after our niece's first appointment, but now that she's had several interactions with her we can see that this is just her default demeanor. Additionally, the Dr was over 45 mins late to our second appointment and when she finally showed up she didn't bother to explain or apologize for being late. She constantly interrupts as you are explaining to her what your medical problem is. In another tele-health appointment in which my niece was merely asking to re-send a referral to an obesity clinic to help get her weigh issue under control, Dr. Laimayum started to berate her for her obesity and to tell her rudely that her weight issue was the result of all her bad choices that she's made and that she has to live with the consequences. She disparaged my niece's character on the phone, when all she need is… medical help in the form of a referral to the obesity clinic that Dr. Laimayum herself recommended. The Dr. hung up on her and left her in tears. In my opinion she clearly breached her medical ethics commitment and showed no compassion whatsoever. SO YOU ARE WARNED: Steer clear of her and find another Dr. She is literally the worst Dr. we've ever encountered.

I'm very disappointed of Dr. Laimayum. I had 2 appointments with her on 2 different days. And I had to let my work know that I'm leaving soon so they can find someone to cover for me, but when I get to the hospital in Martinez the front desk girl told me the doctor canceled for the day. I was very mad. This happened to me twice. I will not see her anymore. I'm changing my doctor.
