Dr. Monica Morrow, MD

I've been diagnosed with breast cancer and Dr. Morrow was just amazing with treatment. I told her that I was worried about the scar, she told me to be realistic but when I woke up after the surgery, I literally could barely see the scar. She and the staff (everyone) have done such a great job. Thank you.

Dr. Morrow is superb: extremely detailed in her explanation of care, thorough in her exam, meticulous in her surgical approach. I can't imagine a better physician to be at the helm of any woman's cancer care and management. Plus, you have the entire team of caregivers at your disposal at MSK. Outstanding in every way imaginable.

From the moment I met her (upon referral from a friend), I knew my health was in the most competent hands on Earth. Dr. Morrow is knowledgeable, compassionate and cites factual data at each visit. She tells it straight and doesn't make you leave her office feeling that something wasn't covered. She explains everything in detail, so be prepared to listen carefully and take notes. Do not expect to be treated with "kid gloves". This woman is an expert and presents herself as nothing less. My life is in her hands and I couldn't be happier!

As some other patients mentioned it already, I found this doctor to be the most arrogant, condescending, almost vicious with some of her remarks. She may be a great surgeon, I will never know as I would never go to a doctor with such personality. God helps you if you ask too many questions and if she feels that you are not just accepting everything she says as if she was god herself! Zero compassion, Zero manners.

I’m very grateful that Dr. Morrow was my surgeon. She was respectful and answered all my questions. Her brilliance in the OR has made my recovery quite manageable.

I saw Dr Morrow when she was at Northwestern. She maybe not be warm and fuzzy but I wanted a knowledgeable doctor not a friend. She recommended a lumpectomy and radiation whereas the general doctor in the suburbs recommended a double mastectomy for my stage 1 cancer. She took out the sentinel node to see if it had spread. All these years later, I am still cancer free. I owed her everything.

I went for a second opinion and found her not only to be curt, condescending and dismissive (as most reviewers here have noted), but more importantly unable to give me a straightforward answer about my prognosis or treatment plan. It took repeated follow up questions (all of which were straightforward) none of which she could address with any degree of clarity. Breast cancer surgery is not rocket science. I ultimately went to MD Anderson and was extremely satisfied with my care there. I appreciate some surgeons may not be “warm and fuzzy,” but her behavior was highly unprofessional. Stay away. Lots of other qualified people out there as I have since learned.

I went to Dr. Morrow for a second opinion. I had been diagnosed with early stage breast cancer. Despite the fact that the site was small, the doctor was very aggressive about suggesting a mastectomy, but never provided any details- even when pressed. I went to Dr. Morrow. She was so thorough and knowledgable. Walked me through the details of each procedure, the rates of recurrence, prognosis, etc. Once I met with her, there was no way I was going to anyone else. One year out, I have healed nicely and am cancer free. I am so appreciative of her expertise and deeply grateful for her treatment.
