Dr. Monica Nguyen Okun, MD

Lost hearing in my left ear due to her misdiagnosis. Do not recommend her or her audiologist.

I came to visit Dr. Okun on the basis of all the wonderful reviews I read, but to my dismay, I quickly realized she was lacking in the most essential skill-bedside manner. For starters, the lack of time management is immediately clear as evidenced by having to wait for at least thirty minutes past my appointment time during every single visit. Once you’re finally in the office, you’re lucky if Dr. Okun spends a full 15 minutes with you, or invites you to ask any questions about your care. It seems she overbooks her schedule for her own benefit and at the expense of her patients. Although Dr. Okun possesses the necessary medical knowledge, she is disappointing in a way that dismisses her expertise. At the end of the day, Dr. Okun needs to remember that patients needs to feel valued by respecting their time, allowing them their right to ask questions about their care, and giving them the appropriate amount of time during their office visit in order to do so.

An honest, competent doctor. Deft work. Explains well. Takes email - you'll be waiting days, but OK. Can fit you in quickly. OK for a fast stop-in; not if you need a Yoda. Dr. Monica Okun does not spend a second longer than she has to. That's a problem - twice, lab tests weren't done. She's running on to the next patient and the techs don't know what they're supposed to do. Mistakes get made. Doc did not run the lab test, I came in for, waited weeks for; I enquired, she got defensive, lost her temper. Not fun when you're ill. I'd hoped these docs were better than that. Hype is high: pretty office, selling products. You get a glossy card asking you to post reviews on here, Yelp, and on other sites. I thought I'd do my bit for truth in advertising, and now you know where the four star reviews are coming in from. She'll be a wiser, kinder doc in a few years - give her time, she's young.

Dr. Okun is a skillful doctor with excellent bedside manner. I highly recommend her.

Dr. Okun is absolutely fantastic. I've had sinus complications for years and she compliments your treatment with what works best for you. She always remembers me and is always a pleasure to visit. Her knowledge is expansive and she always anticipates your long term needs.

Excellent Demeanor, very happy, made a few jokes. Nice to have a doctor you can talk to.

She was very caring and nice. She gave me great advice and was a sweet heart. I would go back to her again in a second. I was refered to her and was so happy to be. Excellent.

Dr Okun is the best in the field, she gives you the time and gives a COMPLETE evaluation and treats you with compasion!Her knowledge in this field is so good that i would never consider going to anyone else,even if i had to wait a month to see her. SHe is truly good and i am better only because of her. treatment.
