Dr. Monika Govoni grew up in a little town called Jaslo in Poland. After her high school graduation in 1995, she and her family moved to Chicago. Dr. Govoni attended the University of Illinois at Chicago where she studied biological sciences. During her college years she worked as a dental assistant which inspired her to take on dentistry as a career path. She earned her DDS degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Dentistry, where she also met her future husband Dr. Robert Govoni.
After their dental school graduation, Dr. Monika and her husband relocated to Milwaukee, WI where he continued on with his studies to specialize in pediatric dentistry and Dr. Monika worked as a general dentist in a group practice in Wauwatosa, WI. Although they both enjoyed their stay in “the dairy countryâ€, they missed their family, friends and “the windy cityâ€. After her husband finished his residency program, they moved back …to Chicago and settled in the East Village area.
Both working as associate dentists at Chicago and suburban practices, they decided to open a place of their own, combining both of their dental specialties to create a unique dental experience for kids, adults and whole families. Here - at Brushin’on Belmont, Dr. Monika and Dr. Robert’s vision is to help create a lifetime of beautiful and healthy smiles for their patients.
